OneSpaWorld Holdings Limited and Azamara Cruises are revamping the onboard spa experience as part of their nearly 20-year partnership. The improvements will be rolled out progressively across the Azamara fleet as each ship undergoes dry docking as part of the Azamara Forward modernization program. These initiatives reflect both companies' shared commitment to enhancing the wellness experience for guests and continuing to offer increasingly exclusive and transformative experiences.
The first installations will take place on board the Azamara Pursuit on August 18, 2026, followed by the Azamara Quest on November 25, 2026, while the rest of the ships will receive these upgrades throughout 2027. Each renovation will have an estimated duration of between two and four weeks, depending on the scope of the work.
“OneSpaWorld has been a trusted partner for Azamara for nearly 20 years, and together we have continually worked to elevate the onboard wellness experience. These enhancements reflect our shared vision of combining innovation, personalization, and world-class service to create distinctive experiences that resonate with today’s luxury travelers. As our guests’ expectations evolve, so does our commitment to investing in experiences that enrich every stage of their journey,” said Claudio Sammartano, Head of Onboard Revenue at Azamara Cruises.
Leonard Fluxman, Chairman and CEO of OneSpaWorld, stated: “What makes our collaboration with Azamara Cruises so special is the spirit of cooperation that drives it. We are always looking for new ways to enhance the spa experience and offer innovative and valuable options for our guests. These new developments are yet another example of that commitment and of a partnership that continues to strengthen.”
The central focus of the project will be the expansion of THESANCTUM, Azamara's spa present throughout the fleet.
The shipping company will allocate new spaces on board to incorporate two additional treatment rooms: one designed exclusively for couples' treatments and another intended for individual treatments.
The new couples' suite will allow guests to enjoy any of THESANCTUM's massages and body treatments together in a private and relaxing environment, while the new single cabin will increase the spa's capacity and allow for an even more personalized service.
The renovation also includes the creation of a new boutique located at the entrance of THESANCTUM, where guests will find a carefully curated selection of beauty and wellness products from prestigious international brands.
Among them are ELEMIS®, considered the number one British luxury skincare brand, and Kérastase®, a world leader in professional hair treatments, which will complement the spa and beauty salon services.
The offer will be completed with JOU® organic Chinese medicinal herbs, used in THESANCTUM's acupuncture program, as well as Good Feet® products, aimed at improving posture, body alignment and promoting an active lifestyle.
This new retail space has been conceived as an extension of the wellness experience, allowing guests to incorporate these treatments into their daily lives as well.
Another major new feature will be the addition of a comprehensive Medi-Spa program, which will offer advanced aesthetic treatments performed by licensed physicians.
These include:
- Thermage®, for skin tightening.
- Restylane®, dermal fillers.
- Dysport®, a treatment to reduce expression lines.
- Microneedling, for skin regeneration.
They are all designed to deliver visible results with minimal recovery time.
In addition, THESANCTUM will incorporate an intravenous therapy (IV Therapy) service aimed at improving hydration, increasing energy levels and promoting general well-being.
The offering will be headlined by the NAD+ Longevity IV treatment, considered one of the benchmarks in cellular optimization and healthy aging, along with a wide range of specific therapies based on vitamins and nutrients.
“THESANCTUM has always aimed to offer a deeply personalized and restorative wellness journey at sea, and these enhancements allow us to take that vision a step further,” said Martha Brabham, Vice President of Design and Revitalization at Azamara Cruises.
“From the expansion of treatment spaces to the new specialized boutique and the incorporation of advanced wellness services, every detail has been designed to make our guests feel better, connect with themselves and enjoy a rejuvenating experience during their trip with Azamara.”
