The Norwegian Aura, setting a new standard for size and scale within the NCL fleet, will be nearly 345 meters long, 169,000 gross tons, and accommodate 3,840 passengers in double staterooms. The Norwegian Aura will be 10% larger than its predecessors and has been thoughtfully designed to offer carefully curated, family-oriented experiences, complemented by redesigned passenger favorites. At the heart of the action is the new OceanHeights, an outdoor activity complex that transitions from daytime fun to a lively and relaxed atmosphere at night, creating a vibrant space for the whole family.

Norwegian Aura opens bookings, with its first voyages scheduled for May 2027

In late 2025, new guest experiences will open on Great Stirrup Cay, including the Great Life Lagoon, a large pool area with swim-up bars, premium sun loungers, and a dedicated children's splash zone, as well as the Vibe Shore Club, an adults-only area with a private bar and premium lounge seating. Later, in 2026, ahead of the Norwegian Aura's 2027 cruises, the island will debut the nearly 6.5-acre Great Tides Waterpark, featuring 19 waterslides, the industry's first cliff jumps, and a lazy river, along with new adventure expeditions.
“We are proud to introduce the latest and largest addition to our fleet, the Norwegian Aura,” said Harry Sommer, president and chief executive officer of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. “The Norwegian Aura represents the evolution of Norwegian Cruise Line and the joy of bringing together families, friends, and travelers from around the world. With sparkle and connection at its core, the ship has been created to offer every guest the freedom to enjoy their vacation their way, giving them the opportunity to relax, connect, and escape effortlessly in the moment. We look forward to this new milestone and can’t wait for guests to experience all that Norwegian Aura has to offer.”
The Norwegian Aura is currently being built by the renowned Italian shipyard Fincantieri, with interior designs throughout the ship created by world-class architects such as AD Associates, Piero Lissoni, Rockwell Group, SMC Design, and Studio Dado.

THE MOST OUTSTANDING FEATURES AND ITINERARIES OF THE NORWEGIAN AURA INCLUDE:

Ocean Heights: Fun and Adventure for All Ages.
Spanning decks 18 through 21, Ocean Heights, the first of its kind in the fleet, will be the hub of fun, action, and relaxation for the whole family. The expansive activity area will combine all-new NCL attractions with redesigned favorites, transforming from day to night with immersive lighting and LED projections.
The Norwegian Aura will feature the most waterslides of any NCL ship, with five located in the expansive open-air Ocean Heights complex. Eclipse Racers are the brand's first mattress-based waterslides, stretching over 120 meters for thrilling head-to-head competition that promises wild, aquatic fun on tube slides. For even more excitement, guests can head to the Aura Free Fall, a waterslide where the floor opens up beneath your feet, plunging you into a 76-meter plunge of exhilarating twists and turns. The Wave is a lotus-shaped water slide, a pendulum-style attraction with rafts that can accommodate groups of up to four people for 91 meters of pure fun together. Finally, the favorite among repeat visitors, The Drop, the Prima Class exclusive slide that launches guests down 10 decks, from the 18th to the 8th.
Designed for adventure lovers, Ocean Heights will also feature a 25-meter ropes course with challenging obstacles and breathtaking ocean views from the top deck. Other additional experiences include a 7.6-meter rock wall; Aura Midway, an open-air amusement park-style area where guests can enjoy a variety of carnival-like games; a nine-hole miniature golf course; NCL's first private hanging cabanas overlooking the Vibe Beach Club; and a bar where guests can enjoy their favorite drinks.

Ocean Boulevard: Something for everyone, from whirlpools to kids' and teens' areas.
Located on Deck Eight, Ocean Boulevard is Prima Class's signature open-air promenade that encircles the entire ship, offering guests the chance to relax while enjoying endless ocean views. Onboard Norwegian Aura, the area has been expanded by 11% compared to Norwegian Aqua and Norwegian Luna, providing more space, more seating, and new activities and amenities, including new whirlpools and a brand-new bar. The expansive Infinity Beach will be the perfect place to unwind, with luxurious lounge chairs and wading pools, ideal for an afternoon nap.
Ocean Boulevard will also feature dedicated activities for kids and teens on both sides of the ship's bow. Located to port, Adventure Alley is designed for children ages six to ten and offers stimulating crawling areas and twisting tunnels in a marine environment overlooking the ocean. Meanwhile, to starboard, Teen Hangout offers an exclusive retreat for teens to relax, socialize, and capture memories on the impressive wall decorated with photos of waves and surfing. Finally, for the youngest children, aged two to six, the Little Explorer's Cove playground is located at the bow and features a playhouse with two slides and much more.

The Ultimate in Poolside and Sun Deck Experiences:
Guests aboard Norwegian Aura will enjoy more ways than ever to relax, cool off, and soak up the sun in the ship’s expanded and enhanced spaces. With over 20% more surface area than the pool decks on Norwegian Aqua and Norwegian Luna, Norwegian Aura’s pool deck will be the largest in the NCL fleet, featuring more seating, an additional infinity whirlpool, a large LED screen, and additional open lounge areas to ensure every guest enjoys the heart of the ship in complete comfort.
The adventure continues on the upper decks with Norwegian Aura’s Kids’ Water Park, featuring a splash zone and interactive water play area near Ocean Heights on Deck 18. Nearby are two family-friendly water slides: the PartySlide, a wide, shallow slide perfect for families and friends to enjoy together, and the Infinity Loop, a figure-eight slide that surrounds the PartySlide. On Deck 19, guests can enjoy outdoor games on the lawn and the lounge areas of Horizon Park.
NCL’s exclusive adults-only Vibe Beach Club will be 15% larger than those found on Norwegian Aqua and Norwegian Luna, offering more seating, infinity jacuzzis, expanded lounge areas, and a waterfall. With additional sun loungers, daybeds, and a bar as its centerpiece, Vibe Beach Club will provide the ultimate setting for relaxation at sea.

The Haven by Norwegian: Elevated Excellence and Luxury at Sea.
The Norwegian Aura will feature 1,976 staterooms, ranging from studios to suites, 159 of which are part of the exclusive keycard-accessed Haven by Norwegian complex. The luxury offering onboard the Norwegian Aura will include 30% more suites than previous Prima-class ships and the most in the fleet. Designed by renowned Italian designer Piero Lissoni, The Haven suites combine sophisticated design with sweeping ocean views and are intended to offer optimal privacy and comfort, with exclusive access via a private elevator. The Haven complex features an exclusive terrace with a panoramic infinity pool, two whirlpools, an outdoor sauna, and a cold room. It also offers the signature Haven bar and lounge, and The Haven restaurant, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Stunning Hull Art Design:
The Norwegian Aura, NCL’s flagship ship, will feature a hull art design created by international artist Rosie Woods, known for her large-scale murals and collaborations with global brands. Woods’ work is characterized by fluid, luminous forms that explore movement, energy, and light. Her design for the ship draws inspiration from celestial light and bioluminescent seas, creating a modern interpretation of how light interacts with water.
Reflecting on her work for Norwegian Aura, Rosie Woods said, “I am thrilled to be collaborating with Norwegian Cruise Line, known for showcasing beautiful and cutting-edge artistic designs on the hulls of its ships. I am so excited to see my large-scale artwork come to life, sail the seas, and illuminate day and night.”

From the Mediterranean to Miami:
Before establishing its homeport in Miami for its inaugural season in June 2027, the Norwegian Aura will sail a seven-day Mediterranean voyage from Trieste, Italy, to Barcelona, Spain, on May 21, 2027, with stops in Valletta, Malta; Salerno; and Rome (Civitavecchia, Italy). Following its 14-day transatlantic crossing, it will begin its Caribbean cruise season from Miami. From June 2027 through October 2027, the Norwegian Aura will sail seven-day Eastern Caribbean cruises with stops at prime island destinations, including Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; Tortola, British Virgin Islands; and the company’s newly enhanced private island in the Bahamas, Great Stirrup Cay. In the winter of 2027/28, the Norwegian Aura will offer seven-day Western Caribbean cruises that will take passengers to lush tropical destinations such as Roatán (Bay Islands), Honduras; Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico; as well as HarvestCaye, NCL's private resort-style destination off the coast of Belize.
