The Silver Muse, a Silversea Cruises, has resumed operations after undergoing extensive refurbishment and refitting at the Fincantieri shipyard in Palermo, Italy. This major project has resulted in a significant increase in passenger capacity, as well as various technical and product improvements on board.
The refurbishment has increased the ship's capacity by approximately 7%, reaching 632 passengers, thanks to the addition of new cabins. Specifically, larger suites were replaced with more compact cabins on decks 9, 10, and 11. On deck 9 alone, six Silver Suites were replaced with twelve new cabins of various categories.
Among the main new features is the addition of the SALT (Sea And Land Taste) gastronomic concept, located on deck 4, which replaces the former Indochine Asian restaurant. This new space offers a culinary experience inspired by the destinations visited by the ship, accompanied by a bar with regional drinks and wines.
As part of the same project, the main restaurant, La Dolce Vita, was reduced in size to make room for new technical spaces. In addition, the dry-dock period included routine maintenance, class inspections, and other scheduled work.
Built in 2017, Silver Muse is the first ship in Silversea's Muse class, which also includes Silver Moon and Silver Dawn. This has been its first major refurbishment since entering service, and the company describes it as a "revitalization that redefines" the onboard experience.
The ship resumed service with a seven-night cruise in the Western Mediterranean from Civitavecchia (Rome), with stops in Valencia, Barcelona, Genoa, and Marseille. Subsequently, the Silver Muse was repositioned to operate voyages between Barcelona and Lisbon, including a special 14-night itinerary through the Canary Islands, the Iberian Peninsula, and Morocco, with a notable stop in Funchal on December 31, 2025, coinciding with the traditional New Year's Eve fireworks display.
After completing its current program around Europe and the Atlantic Islands, the Silver Muse will continue its winter season in the Mediterranean, offering passengers a renewed experience in keeping with Silversea's luxury standards.
