Norwegian Cruise Line presents new images of the first enhancements to Great Stirrup Cay, its private island in the Bahamas: a pool area of more than 5,600 square meters that includes a large heated pool, the Splash Harbor water play area for the little ones, the adults-only Vibe Shore Club and many more experiences for guests.
With a new pier making it even easier for guests to enjoy the island, the Great Life Lagoon, a vast pool area spanning over 5,600 square meters at the heart of the island's transformation, is designed for both relaxation and fun. Designed with families in mind, the pool is larger than two Olympic-sized pools combined and features a beach-style entrance leading to a play area with fun water attractions for children, while adults can enjoy the two swim-up bars, sipping on their favorite cocktails. Surrounding the stunning new pool are private cabanas where guests can relax and enjoy the magnificent ocean and pool views. For those seeking a more exclusive experience, the new Vibe Shore Club is accessible with a full-day pass, offering an adults-only retreat with cabanas and a private bar, providing a unique beachfront escape. Other enhancements include Splash Harbor, a free children's water play area just steps from the new pool, a new welcome center, and a convenient tram system for effortless island exploration. Together, these improvements ensure that all guests enjoy a memorable and hassle-free visit.

Looking ahead, Norwegian Cruise Line is eager to continue expanding the island with the opening of Great Tides Waterpark in the summer of 2026. This action-packed destination will feature slides and attractions for guests of all ages. With a total of 19 slides ranging from thrilling, adrenaline-pumping descents to more tranquil adventures, the park will include the impressive Tidal Tower, which offers eight exhilarating slides, including the two tallest, where guests can experience dizzying drops and exhilarating climbs on inner tubes for an unforgettable experience. Other attractions at Tidal Tower include high-speed racing slides for fun competitions, spiral slides that twist and turn riders in unexpected directions, and exhilarating body slides for adrenaline junkies. For added convenience, some slides will feature conveyor belts that will carry the inner tubes to the top, eliminating the need for guests to pull themselves up. The Great Tides water park will also feature a nearly 244-meter-long dynamic river, an 836-square-meter children's splash zone, and Cliffside Cove, where guests can enjoy first-ever cliff jumps, racing slides, and much more.
As Norwegian Cruise Line continues to transform Great Stirrup Cay, the company is preparing to welcome more than one million guests to its private island aboard 17 ships by 2026. This includes visits from its newest vessels, such as the Norwegian Aqua®, which offers seven-day Caribbean cruises from Miami and Orlando (Port Canaveral), Florida, through October 2027, with stops in the Dominican Republic, U.S. Virgin Islands, British Virgin Islands, and more. The Norwegian Aqua will be joined in the Caribbean by the new Norwegian Luna™, which will debut in March 2026 and sail seven-day Caribbean itineraries from April 2026 through October 2026, visiting the same tropical destinations as its sister ship.
