The Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife has launched the bidding process for the installation of two mobile walkways at the new cruise terminal currently under construction in the Port of Tenerife. These walkways will facilitate passenger embarkation and disembarkation at the terminal building, improving service for cruise passengers arriving in the city.
The facility will have a surface area of 8,473 square meters, 7,000 more than the current temporary station. It will be over 200 meters long. Located on the Ribera Wharf, opposite Anaga Avenue, it will be able to accommodate approximately 4,000 passengers at a time. In addition to a large hall, it will be equipped with 50 counters for document verification and check-in, a waiting room for 500 people, a luggage area, and a boarding area for the ships.
Among the services offered will be a bar and several retail spaces that could be used to sell souvenirs or local products. Everything will depend on the type of businesses that bid when the Port Authority puts these spaces out to tender. Opposite the station, a parking area will be provided for cars offering excursions around the island, as well as for taxis picking up passengers.
