AmaWaterways has unveiled the first details and images of AmaRudi, its highly anticipated second double-width riverboat, scheduled to launch in spring 2027 on the Danube River.
Following in the footsteps of AmaMagna's innovative design, AmaRudi, along with its sister ship, will become the largest river cruise ship in Europe. Designed to accommodate only 196 passengers in 98 cabins and suites, the new vessel will offer an extraordinary level of personal space, multiple dining options, extensive wellness facilities, and thoughtfully designed public areas inspired by the destinations along the Danube.
AmaRudi is the first ship in the company's history to be named after a man, in honor of co-founder Rudi Schreiner, whose pioneering vision helped shape the modern river cruise industry. Born and raised near the Danube in Austria, Schreiner spent his childhood exploring the same river that will now be home to AmaRudi.

The design concept for AmaRudi blends contemporary elegance, exceptional comfort, and subtle historical references inspired by the cities and cultures along the Danube. While retaining the distinctive double-width structure introduced with AmaMagna, the new ship will incorporate several innovations and unprecedented passenger experiences.
Gastronomic experiences
Gastronomy will be one of the cornerstones of the AmaRudi onboard experience. Passengers will be able to choose from a variety of dining options, including the main restaurant, Journey's Restaurant, the specialty restaurant The Chef's Table, al fresco dining, and the inviting Rudi's Wine Bar, a space inspired by Schreiner's passion for wine and European culture.
The culinary offerings will be complemented by AmaWaterways' enhanced selection, which includes beer, soft drinks, and a carefully curated selection of over 30 wines served with lunch and dinner. In addition, The Chef's Table will feature new Italian lunch menus. Upstairs, a barbecue area integrated into the Deck Club will further expand the available dining options.
Well-being and leisure
Guests will have access to a large wellness area equipped with massage rooms, hairdressing and manicure services, a modern gym and spaces specifically designed for relaxation.
Under the supervision of AmaWaterways' wellness specialists, passengers can participate in fitness classes and wellness programs both onboard and ashore. In addition, the upper deck will feature a regulation-size pickleball court, offering new opportunities to stay active while enjoying the Danube scenery.
Entertainment
AmaRudi will debut a completely new entertainment concept, designed exclusively for this ship. Conceived as a lively social hub, this multifunctional space will include a cinema, karaoke, pool tables, and a jukebox.
In addition, advanced soundproofing solutions have been incorporated to ensure maximum passenger comfort throughout the ship.
Commitment to sustainability
As with all new AmaWaterways ships, sustainability will play a key role in the design and operation of AmaRudi.
The ship will be equipped with state-of-the-art Stage V engines, solar panels, shore power,spudpoles, and lightweight construction materials designed to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact while navigating European waterways.

AmaRudi will begin sailing the Danube in spring 2027 and will operate some of AmaWaterways' most popular itineraries, including "Magna on the Danube" and "Gems of Southeast Europe".
