Marlink has been selected by TUI Cruises to provide resilient digital experiences for passengers, crew and ship operations through a fully managed platform of hybrid connectivity and digital services for the Mein Schiff Flow, the latest addition to the company's fleet.
The Mein Schiff Flow is scheduled to be christened in Trieste, Italy, on June 20, 2026, and will enter service equipped with a fully integrated connectivity environment that combines Starlink low Earth orbit (LEO) services, GEO VSAT connectivity, and MSS backup systems, all managed through Marlink's advanced network management capabilities. TUI Cruises will broadcast the christening ceremony live via Starlink to bring the event to a wider audience.
Designed to offer digital operations and connectivity services to more than 3,900 passengers and 1,500 crew members, the Mein Schiff Flow is part of the new InTUItion class, a generation of ships that combines spacious open areas, innovative design, and greater proximity to the sea. At the same time, it focuses on premium digital experiences and high operational efficiency on international itineraries, allowing passengers and crew to stay connected and enjoy a seamless experience throughout their voyage.
Thanks to Marlink's unified Possibility Portfolio platform and its XChange NextGen solution, the hybrid network architecture has been designed to maximize service availability and resilience across diverse operating environments, including remote and exotic destinations where reliable connectivity is essential for both operational continuity and the high-quality experience that today's cruise passengers expect. Intelligent management of multiple satellite services allows for dynamic traffic optimization based on network availability, application priority, and operational needs.
This project builds on the long-standing collaboration between Marlink and TUI Cruises, which began in 2018 to support the cruise line's digital transformation. Among other milestones, the implementation of Sealink NextGen on board the Mein Schiff Relax, the first ship in the InTUItion class, in 2024, stands out. With the addition of the Mein Schiff Flow, Marlink expands its support for TUI Cruises' new generation of ships through fully managed hybrid connectivity solutions and digital infrastructure designed to enhance the passenger and crew experience, as well as operational performance.
According to Tore Morten Olsen, president of Marlink's maritime division: “Today's cruise passengers expect to enjoy the same digital experience at sea as they do on land. By combining multi-orbit connectivity, intelligent traffic management, and resilient onboard infrastructure, we are helping TUI Cruises deliver a permanently connected experience, while supporting critical ship operations wherever the Mein Schiff Flow.”
