Ambassador Cruise Line launches a regional coach transfer program for its winter cruises

Ambassador Cruise Line launches a new regional coach transfer program that will make it easier for travelers from the UK to start their flight-free cruise holidays from the port of London Tilbury.

Ambassador Cruise Line launches a regional coach transfer program for its winter cruisesUnder the slogan “Get On Board. We’ll Take It From Here,” this initiative will be available on a selection of cruises departing between January and March 2027, allowing passengers to travel directly from ten pick-up points across the UK to the London cruise terminal.

Departure points include Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Bristol, Cardiff and Portsmouth, offering a convenient and affordable option to start your holiday.

The company explains that this new service comes after suggestions from partner travel agencies and passengers, who identified transport to London Tilbury as one of the main obstacles to booking winter cruises, especially when ships operate from the company's home port rather than from regional ports.

In its first phase, the program will be available on nine selected cruises of seven nights or more, with itineraries that include experiences to view the Northern Lights, winter sun getaways to the Iberian Peninsula, North Africa and the Canary Islands, spring fjord cruises and extended Caribbean voyages.

Nicola Harper, Director of Distribution at Ambassador Cruise Line, noted: “One of the reasons passengers choose Ambassador is the simplicity of cruising without the need to fly, and we are always looking for ways to make that experience even easier.

Our new regional transfer program allows travelers from across the UK to join select winter cruises from a point much closer to home, eliminating much of the planning and travel sometimes involved in embarking at London Tilbury.

We know from our conversations with travel agencies and passengers that there is strong demand for a service like this, especially during the winter months when our ships sail from Tilbury instead of our regional ports. Whether from Scotland, the north of England, the Midlands, Wales, or the south coast, passengers simply need to step into a comfortable coach, relax, and let us take care of the rest.”.

Harper added that the goal is to make this initiative a permanent part of the Ambassador experience throughout the year.
