EXPLORA III has successfully completed its sea trials in the Mediterranean. These trials validated the ship's technical and operational performance ahead of its debut this summer and mark a new chapter in the brand's long-term vision to redefine luxury ocean travel.

EXPLORA III has successfully completed its technical and navigation testsEXPLORA III is the first ship in the fleet powered by LNG, a technology that offers the flexibility needed to use renewable fuels such as bio-LNG and synthetic LNG, while also promoting continuous innovation and greater energy efficiency.

With the six ships of the project currently in different phases of development, including operation, construction and future deliveries; Explora Journeys reaches the halfway point of its expansion plan for a fleet of six vessels, advancing in its vision of responsible and sustainable growth.

“The completion of sea trials for EXPLORA III is another source of pride for Explora Journeys and a further step in realizing our long-term fleet vision,” said Anna Nash, President of Explora Journeys. “EXPLORA III symbolizes the next stage of our growth and reflects our ongoing commitment to conscious innovation, exceptional guest experiences, and a more responsible approach to luxury ocean travel. As the first ship in our fleet powered by LNG, it also represents a significant advancement in our transition to lower-emission technologies, contributing to our goal of achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions from our maritime operations by 2050. This summer, Explora Journeys will have three ships sailing simultaneously, a significant milestone that demonstrates the strength of our vision and the extraordinary momentum the brand is experiencing.”

After successfully completing its sea trials, the ship has returned to the Fincantieri shipyard in Sestri Ponente, near Genoa, where final interior fitting and commissioning work will be carried out. With delivery ahead of schedule, EXPLORA III will begin its season with the pre-inaugural voyage “Mediterranean Prelude,” departing on July 24, 2026, and arriving in Barcelona on August 1, 2026, coinciding with its official christening ceremony. Two days later, it will embark on its seven-night maiden voyage to Lisbon, beginning an elegant season in Northern Europe that will take it to destinations of great cultural richness and spectacular landscapes.

Throughout the remainder of its highly anticipated inaugural season, EXPLORA III will sail through the fjords of Norway, Iceland, and Greenland before crossing the Atlantic to discover the vibrant autumn landscapes of New England and the east coast of Canada.
