Princess Cruises has announced a three-year strategic partnership with the Singapore Tourism Board that will significantly expand the cruise line's presence in Singapore, further solidifying the city-state's position as one of the leading cruise hubs in Asia-Pacific.
The agreement, which covers the period between 2027 and 2030, will attract more than 150,000 passengers and generate significant economic benefits for the country's tourism and maritime sectors.
As part of this commitment, Princess Cruises will deploy three ships in Singapore: the Diamond Princess, the Sapphire Princess, and the Grand Princess. Furthermore, the company plans to double the number of departures from the Singaporean port by 2030.
Thanks to the support of the STB's Cruise Development Fund (CDF), the ships will operate itineraries ranging from 10 to 28 days in length, allowing travelers to discover multiple destinations in the region through longer and more comprehensive trips.
Princess Cruises' Southeast Asia program for the 2027-2028 season will be headlined by the Diamond Princess, offering extended itineraries connecting Japan, South Korea and various Southeast Asian destinations.
The cruises will include stops in 29 destinations across nine countries, with routes of up to 28 days designed to link several regions in a single trip.
This expansion comes after a particularly outstanding 2026-2027 season, in which the Diamond Princess and the Sapphire Princess will be based in Singapore simultaneously between November 2026 and February 2027.
The company expects Singapore to continue attracting a high number of international passengers, especially from medium- and long-haul markets such as Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
The new deployment will contribute to the growth of the fly & cruise segment, which combines international flights with cruise holidays, reinforcing Singapore's position as one of Asia's most important homeports.
Matthew Rutherford, Vice President for Asia-Pacific at Princess Cruises, stated, “Singapore is a cornerstone of our regional strategy and an exceptional homeport for expanding our presence in Asia. This multi-year rollout reflects our confidence in the country’s connectivity and the strength of its cruise ecosystem. We are seeing increasing demand for longer, more immersive voyages, and this program will allow us to offer more comprehensive itineraries through Southeast Asia and beyond, while attracting more international travelers to the region.”.
