The port of Roses, on the Costa Brava, is expecting the arrival of seven cruise ships and approximately 2,700 passengers this season. One of this year's highlights is that all the cruises are high-end. Passengers will discover unique and distinctive experiences of the region through cultural and food-related activities.
Cruise ship activity in the port of Roses will last six months this year, from May to October. The season began on May 10th and is scheduled to end on October 20th.
70% of cruise ships will stop during the low season, which will help to reduce the seasonality of tourist activity in the Alt Empordà and the Costa Brava, thus boosting employment and the economy of Roses and its surroundings.
This season, six cruise lines will visit Roses: Azamara, Club Med, Crystal Cruises, Sea Cloud Cruises, Seadream Yacht Club, and Windstar Cruises. In addition, the port will also host the inaugural call of the Azamara Onward cruise ship.
The 2026 season has begun with the Seadream I cruise ship, from Seadream Yacht Club, a company loyal to the port of Roses and its tourist destination, as it has been calling at the port of Roses for 14 years and visiting the city and the most emblematic places of the Costa Brava.
The ship arrived from the port of Barcelona and was departing after spending the day at sea for the French port of Sète. The cruise ship had 50 passengers on board, mostly Americans.
This year, the ports of Roses and Palamós expect to receive a total of 72 cruise ship calls, with around 70,000 passengers and an estimated economic impact of 6.7 million euros.
