MSC Cruises marks a new milestone with the departure of MSC Poesia from Seattle on its first voyage to Alaska, MSC Cruises' first foray into this region, offering passengers the opportunity to enjoy the area's stunning scenery until September.
The MSC Poesiaset sail from Seattle, officially launching its inaugural summer season and marking a new chapter for MSC Cruises. The MSC Poesia will sail weekly from its homeport of Seattle, offering seven-night itineraries with stops in Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point, and Juneau, Alaska (USA), as well as Victoria (Canada). The voyages also include a scenic tour of the stunning Endicott Arm fjord, offering views of the Dawes Glacier.
The MSC Poesia will return to Alaska for next year's summer season, in April 2027, and itineraries can now be booked.
As part of its commitment to responsible management in Alaska, MSC Cruises has partnered with ORCA to support marine research, with an expert on board MSC Poesia during peak whale watching season to lead crew training, passenger education and provide information on Alaskan marine wildlife.
Among the new additions is the MSC Yacht Club, the company's luxury "yacht within a ship" concept, now available on MSC Poesia. Other ship enhancements include a refurbished MSC Aurea Spa, a state-of-the-art MSC Gym equipped with Technogym®, a men's barbershop, and new fitness studios.
Passengers traveling to Alaska will also be able to dine at two new specialty restaurants: Butcher's Cut, an authentic American-style steakhouse, and Kaito Sushi Bar, where they can savor expertly prepared sushi and exquisite authentic Asian dishes.
Passengers will also be able to enjoy an enhanced culinary offering inspired by the region, with menus and drinks designed specifically for MSC Alaska Cruises: from succulent regional cuisine to a wide selection of seafood, hot drinks and locally inspired cocktails throughout the journey.
MSC Poesia will offer enhanced entertainment throughout the Alaskan season, with "Dirty Dancing: In Concert" as the main attraction—a live production featuring singers, dancers, and a live band performing to the iconic film. Passengers will also enjoy live music, themed parties, comedy shows, family activities, as well as expert talks, narrated scenic drives, and interactive workshops inspired by the region's wildlife, geography, and culture.
Starting in September, MSC Poesia will relocate to offer round-trip Caribbean itineraries during the winter of 2026/2027, before returning to Alaska for its summer season of 2027. Between seasons, the ship offers MSC Grand Voyage itineraries through the iconic Panama Canal, between Miami and Seattle.
The last remaining cabins available for the 2026 and 2027 seasons can now be booked.
