MSC Cruises ' MSC Poesia has successfully transited the Panama Canal during its 18-night Grand Voyage from Miami to Seattle, marking a key milestone in its preparation for its inaugural Alaskan season.
The passage through the iconic Panama Canal is one of the highlights of the itinerary, offering passengers a once-in-a-lifetime experience: contemplating one of the greatest achievements of world engineering while sailing between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, surrounded by stunning tropical landscapes and rich biodiversity.
The newly refurbished MSC Poesia now features a new MSC Yacht Club, the cruise line's exclusive "yacht within a ship" concept, offering spacious and elegantly appointed suites, private facilities, and 24-hour butler and concierge service. Ship upgrades also include a refurbished MSC Aurea Spa, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and the specialty restaurants Butcher's Cut and Kaito Sushi Bar.
MSC Poesia Grand Voyage departed from Miami and has since sailed through the Caribbean and Central America before transiting the world-famous Panama Canal. The ship is now in the Pacific and will continue north along the coast on the final leg of its journey to Seattle, where it will begin its Alaskan itineraries on May 11, 2026.
Following MSC Poesia 's inaugural season in Alaska, it will relocate to offer round-trip Caribbean itineraries from Miami during the winter of 2026-2027, visiting destinations such as Jamaica, Colombia, Costa Rica, Aruba, Curacao and Belize, before returning to Alaska for its summer season of 2027.
