Princess Cruises has signed three new shipbuilding agreements with the Italian shipyard Fincantieri to build three new cruise ships on a next-generation platform designed to further enhance its already renowned world-class vacation experience. The new ships are scheduled for delivery in late 2035, 2038, and 2039, respectively.
The new ships will seamlessly blend the most sought-after and highly rated experiences and spaces for which Princess Cruises is known, with completely reimagined exterior decks, staterooms, and Piazza designs tailored to the brand’s global travelers and their diverse deployments. These new ships will be based on the award-winning Sphere Class platform and will continue to incorporate the latest guest-focused and maritime operational technologies. Like the successful Sun Princess and Star Princess, the Voyager-class ships will be dual-fuel, primarily using Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), the best advanced fuel technology currently available, which allows for immediate reductions in greenhouse gases and significantly lowers emissions compared to other conventional marine fuels. The new ships, which will be the largest in the Princess Cruises fleet, will be built at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy.

The three ships will have a gross tonnage of 183,000 and will be able to accommodate approximately 4,700 guests. Details of the ship design specifications, along with the planned features and services of this new platform, will be released in the future.

The agreements for Princess Cruises' next-generation ships represent Carnival Corporation's 19th, 20th, and 21st LNG-powered vessels and are part of the company's ongoing fleet upgrade strategy, designed to generate excitement in the vacation market and accelerate demand for cruises, the fastest-growing segment in the vacation industry. In addition to these three ships, scheduled for delivery in late 2035, 2038, and 2039, Carnival Corporation has seven more new ships under contract with deliveries planned between 2027 and 2033.
