On September 19, in the port of Honfleur, two of Scenic, a river cruiser and an expedition yacht, met for the first time. The Scenic Gem, built specifically for the Seine River, and the Scenic Eclipse, The World's First Discovery Yacht™, marked a milestone by demonstrating Scenic's commitment to innovation and redefining ultra-luxury in both river and ocean cruising.
The Scenic Gem is one of the few riverboats capable of docking in the heart of Honfleur, the junction of the Seine and the English Channel. Meanwhile, the Scenic Eclipse, equipped with cutting-edge technology, is equally suited to polar exploration as it is to cruising the coasts of Europe and the Mediterranean. The Discovery Yacht's sleek profile and unparalleled design allow it to traverse iconic oceans and rivers, setting a new benchmark for luxury exploration travel.
This gathering in Honfleur reflected Scenic's philosophy: placing guests at the heart of enriching, all-inclusive experiences, elevating every journey to its fullest potential. To commemorate the occasion, the captain of the Scenic Gem, Ludovic Libs, and the captain of the Scenic Eclipse, Radomir Novosel, met in a ceremonial presentation.
Inspired by the event, Scenic Eclipse's pastry chef, Jed Samson, Executive Chef Viktor Malek, and their culinary team presented an elaborate cake creation depicting the picturesque port of Honfleur, complete with edible replicas of the Scenic Eclipse and Scenic Gem. Guests on board were also invited to visit both ships to discover firsthand the unique experiences each offers. Additionally, Scenic Eclipse passengers enjoyed a special guest appearance from Scenic Gem, guide Ben Baillie, who shared the region's rich history.
