Last Friday, the ceremony to hand over the ship to Corazul Cruceros, the company that will operate the ship in Brazil, took place aboard the Buenavista.
Images circulating on social media show representatives of Astro Ocean Cruise, the Chinese state-owned company that operated the ship under the name Piano Land, alongside executives from Corazul Cruceros during the handover ceremony. The ceremony also served to officially unveil the ship's new name, Buenavista, which was christened during the event.
After the ceremony, the ship has returned to anchor south of Hong Kong, although its departure for Brazil could happen at any time since, as we reported at the beginning of the month, the start of its voyage was scheduled for September 20.
The winter season in Brazil was announced for November, but they are currently working to make an inaugural “shakedown” cruise on October 23, 2026.
The Buenavista will be doing 3 and 4 night cruises from Santos or Rio de Janeiro and stopping in Camboriu, for most of the season, although it will also have some 7 night cruises.
