It will debut in May 2027 with a cruise between Trieste and Tarragona, where it will be able to showcase all the new features made possible by its 170,000 gross tons, which make it the largest ship in Norwegian Cruise Line. It will then operate in the Caribbean.

The Norwegian Aura will inherit the unmistakable boutique style of the Prima and Prima Plus classes, characterized by a modern and sophisticated design, but with expanded and improved areas, and new spaces for every type of traveler.
Its 22-meter length, greater than its predecessors, will allow for expanded areas such as the central pool, the adults-only Vibe Beach Club, and the Ocean Heights outdoor entertainment area surrounding the fireplace, which has been completely redesigned and will feature six waterslides, a ropes course suspended over the sea, a new bar, and cabanas.
Norwegian Cruise Line has developed this ship with a strong multigenerational focus, creating spaces, activities, and entertainment for all ages, capable of attracting both families with children and multigenerational groups traveling together.
The ship's hull will feature an original artwork by international artist Rosie Woods, continuing Norwegian Cruise Line's tradition of transforming each new ship into a true work of art on the water.
More Space, Prima Plus Class Design:
Although it will have new and expanded spaces, the Norwegian Aura will follow the layout of Prima Plus class ships. Thus, the upper decks will feature an expanded pool deck, 20% larger than its predecessors, with more seating and lounge chairs, an additional hot tub, outdoor lounge areas, and a nearby children's water park, creating more space for families to relax and play together. Below the children's water park will be the panoramic Observation Lounge and the video game and virtual reality gaming room, although NCL has not yet revealed details about this space.
Around the fireplace will be the Ocean Heights entertainment area, a multi-level entertainment complex that will concentrate some of the main activities for families and adventurous passengers.
Adrenaline junkies can enjoy six water slides, the 25-meter-high Aura Ropes Course, a multi-level obstacle course, Moon Climber, and Aura Midway, which will feature carnival-style games and a nine-hole miniature golf course. For those who prefer to relax, NCL's first suspended cabanas overlooking Vibe Beach Club will be available, along with an exclusive bar to enjoy the surroundings in complete comfort.
Below this area will be the Surfside buffet, which will double in size as the specialty restaurants Palomar and Sukhothai relocate to decks 7 and 8, respectively.
Beyond this area will be Vibe Beach Club, an exclusive, pay-per-view area for adults seeking more tranquility. And the aft portion of the outer decks will be reserved for The Haven, the private suite area of the Norwegian Aura.

But the outdoor space doesn't end there. The renovated Ocean Boulevard, expanded by 11%, will encircle the ship's hull on deck eight, featuring new jacuzzis, sun loungers, and social areas that connect guests with the ocean.
Inside, the heart of the ship will remain the spectacular Penrose Atrium, now larger, with more seating and a dedicated stage for daily entertainment.
From there, the facilities will extend across three decks, with the multipurpose theater forward, which transforms into a ballroom or mega-disco thanks to retractable seating and a spectacular dynamic lighting system.
Aft of deck 8 will be the Indulge Food Hall, the included food market concept that NCL has successfully implemented on its Prima and Prima Plus class ships, connecting to the outside via the Soleil Bar. Below it will be the main restaurant, Hudson's, debuting a new, more sophisticated design.
New Dining Experiences:
The Norwegian Aura will feature 22 food and beverage options spanning more than 10 different cuisines. The onboard offerings are extensive, allowing passengers to dine as they please or discover new flavors.
The new Tamara will debut onboard the Norwegian Aura as NCL’s first specialty restaurant dedicated to Indian cuisine. Inspired by the immense popularity of Indian offerings introduced in the Indulge Food Hall, the new space will elevate these passenger favorites to a dedicated dining experience, with authentic regional dishes in a sophisticated setting inspired by the architecture and craftsmanship of North Indian temples and courtyards.
Located on Deck 8, Tamara’s design will incorporate warm, earthy tones, elaborate details, and an open kitchen, featuring striking tandoor ovens, where passengers can savor authentic flavors with dishes such as Short-Rib Dosa, a crispy rice and lentil crepe with sambar tomato, fenugreek, and coconut chutney; Lamb Biryani, with basmati rice, aromatic spices, and caramelized onions; and Green Papaya Salad, prepared tableside with pomegranate, tamarind, peanuts, jaggery, and chili.
Another highlight of the Norwegian Aura will be The Panorama Room, a completely reimagined all-inclusive dining experience that transforms the traditional main restaurant using immersive visual technology.
Located on Deck 6, the space will feature large LED screens, multi-channel audio, synchronized lighting, and dynamic visuals that evolve throughout the day and night, transporting guests as they dine through changing landscapes, works of art, and different settings.
On Deck 7, guests will find Le Bistro, with a new design and ocean views, where they can enjoy classic French cuisine; as well as Sukhothai, which features a refreshed design celebrating the culture, craftsmanship, and flavors of Thailand. Palomar, specializing in Mediterranean cuisine, and the Italian restaurant Onda by Scarpetta will be located on deck 8, where they will have more seating and a new aesthetic.

Cagney's Steakhouse will also receive a sophisticated redesign, combining rich, dark colors with the classic ambiance of a modern steakhouse.
The popular Japanese specialty restaurants, Hasuki, dedicated to hibachi, and Nama, specializing in sushi, will also return with new décor and a lighter color palette to create a welcoming atmosphere.
Indulge Food Hall will feature nine globally inspired stations, including a new Middle Eastern offering, in addition to familiar favorites like Q Texas Smokehouse, Planterie, and Nudls.
The Mexican restaurant Los Lobos and The Local Bar & Grill, serving classic pub fare practically all day, will also be back.
Guests staying at The Haven, the exclusive, card-access luxury resort, will enjoy a redesigned The Haven Bar and Lounge and The Haven Restaurant. Studio DADO, regular collaborators with Norwegian Cruise Line, designed the private lounge, restaurant, and exterior deck to recreate an oasis of tranquility that immerses passengers in the natural beauty of the world, with earthy tones, a lush canopy of trees, and delicate finishes.
Mandara Spa, the industry’s largest thermal suite.
Spread across two decks, Mandara Spa, designed by Rockwell Group, harnesses the restorative power of nature to create a vast wellness sanctuary, with spaces and experiences inspired by forest canopies, cave-like retreats, waterfalls, and the rhythms of nature.
At the heart of this experience is the industry’s largest Thermal Suite, offering 15 wellness services, including 11 new spaces and experiences, all conceived around the principles of contrast therapy. Guests can alternate between warm and cool spaces, water features, and tranquil lounge areas to create their own relaxation routine, whether to unwind after a day on land, recover from their journey, or simply enjoy a moment of calm at sea.
A highlight will be the Sensory Rain Pool, a 360-degree immersive experience that transforms tranquil waters into a tropical downpour and, finally, a spectacular thunderstorm, complete with simulated lightning effects and thunder sounds enveloping guests.
The Thermal Suite's contrasting experience will feature a variety of options, including:
– Blue Glow Suite, a soft blue lighting experience designed to promote relaxation and aid recovery after travel.
– Foot Spa, dedicated to soothing and refreshing tired feet and muscles.
– Waterfall Experience, where guests can relax as water cascades over their head and shoulders.
– Snow Cave, with rugged, rock-like walls covered in freshly fallen snow, whose cold therapy benefits are known to reduce inflammation.
– Reflection Pool, a reflection pool with panoramic ocean views.
– Guided Hot and Cold Plunge experiences.
Passengers will also be able to enjoy various dedicated relaxation areas throughout the spa, including a Salt Room, Meditation Lounge, Aromatic Steam Room, Finnish Sauna, Charcoal Sauna, and Zen Lounge.
The spa will also feature 24 treatment rooms, a full-service beauty salon, a Skin Lab, and expanded medi-spa services, including IV therapy, NAD+ injections to boost energy and overall vitality, and acupuncture. The facility will also include a state-of-the-art fitness center with specialized training studios and wellness programs.
itinerary
will be a seven-day Mediterranean cruise from Trieste to Barcelona, with stops in Malta and Italy, before a transatlantic crossing to Miami.
It will then begin sailing from Miami, offering seven-day Eastern Caribbean cruises during the summers of 2027 and 2028.
These itineraries will include destinations such as Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic; St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands; Tortola in the British Virgin Islands; and Great Stirrup Cay, Norwegian Cruise Line’s private island in the Bahamas, which is undergoing significant upgrades throughout 2026, including a new pool and a large water park.
During the winter of 2027-28, Norwegian Aura will offer week-long Western Caribbean cruises, with stops in Roatán, Honduras; Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico; and Harvest Caye, NCL's private destination in Belize.
Great Stirrup Cay and Norwegian Aura: A New Way to Enjoy the Caribbean.
In addition to discovering the innovative spaces of Norwegian Aura, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy Great Stirrup Cay, Norwegian Cruise Line's private island in the Bahamas, which is undergoing a major transformation in 2026, as we reported in the previous issue.
In March, the new Great Life Lagoon area opened, a large pool with various associated amenities that offers a comfortable experience for passengers. Other infrastructure was also inaugurated to facilitate passenger arrival, such as the Welcome Center, from which different shuttles depart to various areas of the island.
Although some water slides have been operating since August, the official opening of Great Tidal Waterpark will be on September 4 and will make a significant difference. The 52-meter-tall Tidal Tower will dominate the area, from which eight water slides launch. Not far from there will be Cliffside Cove, featuring a straight waterslide for several people to slide down side-by-side, and two cliff jumps of 3 and 4.5 meters in height. There will also be a children's water park and a dynamic river, an immersive aquatic experience with a fast-moving current that will be more exciting than a typical lazy river.
In addition, Great Stirrup Cay will continue to offer everything that has made it one of the most beloved destinations in the Caribbean: white sand beaches, crystal-clear waters, water activities, and spaces to relax by the sea. With these new additions, visitors can enjoy an even more complete experience, whether traveling with family, as a couple, or with friends.
Undoubtedly, the combination of the brand-new Norwegian Aura with an enhanced Great Stirrup Cay makes the inaugural season cruises highly sought after. A premium experience for those seeking the latest innovations and the most exciting experiences available.
