At the sixteenth edition, top shipping executives will discuss the future of itineraries, private destinations, and the ultra-luxury traveler.
The cruise industry continues to grow and reshape its landscape. New itineraries, private destinations, ships competing with yachts and villas for the ultra-luxury traveler, and port cities demanding a new model of port calls.
Leading cruise industry executives will gather in Madrid on November 10th and 11th for the 16th edition of the International Cruise Summit, organized by Cruises News Media Group. This renowned conference brings together the sector annually at the Meliá Castilla Hotel.
The two-day event will feature several roundtables and presentations addressing key issues in the cruise industry and tourist destinations. Tourism Economics, a company within Oxford Economics, will open the congress with independent data on demand, capacity, and investment. The second edition of "The Great Debate" will take place, in which cruise lines, ports, and destinations will discuss whether cruise growth depends on greater alignment among them. Leading industry figures will analyze how schedules and itineraries will change over the next ten years, the new port call model with afternoon arrivals and overnight stays, the industry's ability to respond to geopolitical instability, and where the next cruise passenger will come from.
Windstar Cruises will explain how its mystery cruises work, where no passenger knows the ship's destination until it reaches each stop, and Club Med will share its experience sailing since the 1990s. The program also includes sessions on private destinations, round-the-world cruises, solo travelers, expedition cruises, artificial intelligence applied to operations, the order book for new ships, Japanese cruises with Asuka Cruise, Qatar as a featured destination, the presentation of Terminal G at the Port of Barcelona, and a vision of what round-the-world cruises would be like without the Suez Canal, presented by the Suez Canal Authority itself.
Senior managers, international shipping executives, port authorities, travel agents, industry experts and supplier companies will be present at one of the world's most important cruise congresses and one of the leading networking platforms.
The event will feature presentations from top executives of cruise companies, including Samantha Stimpson, CEO of Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, who will be interviewed in depth; Chris Hackney, CEO of Marella Cruises; John McKeon, Founder and CEO of Polar Latitudes Expeditions; Helen Beck, Managing Director of Global Commercial at Windstar Cruises; Leonardo Massa, Vice President for Southern Europe of the Cruise Division at MSC Group; Kevin Bubolz, Vice President and Managing Director for Continental Europe, the Middle East, and Africa at Norwegian Cruise Line; Andreas Nüssel, Managing Director UK and EMEA at Silversea; Juan Trescastro, Vice President of Itinerary Planning, Destinations, and Government Relations at Virgin Voyages; and Omar Al Jaber, Chief of Operations Affairs at Qatar Tourism, among others.
