Royal Caribbean has confirmed that singer Diana Ross will be the official godmother of Star of the Seas when the revolutionary Icon Class ship debuts in August 2025. With her music inspiring generations of families, Diana Ross will take the stage to welcome the ship at Port Canaveral (Orlando), Florida, after visiting the renowned Perfect Day at CocoCay in the Bahamas.
As godmother, Diana Ross will join a long maritime tradition of bestowing protection upon the ship, its crew members, and the millions of people who, over the years, will create unforgettable memories on the best family vacations. To celebrate the launch of Star, Diana Ross will participate in an iconic naming ceremony at the ship's AquaTheater, located in the transformative AquaDome neighborhood, surrounded by panoramic ocean views.
