On the third anniversary of its founding, Margaritaville at Sea confirms the next phase of its fleet expansion plan with the acquisition of its third ship, the Costa Fortuna, currently operated by Costa Cruises. This new acquisition continues the company's commitment to bringing the relaxed Margaritaville lifestyle to new and passionate cruisers through exceptional ship redesigns combined with Margaritaville's signature hospitality.
Since launching its first ship, the Margaritaville at Sea Paradise, in May 2022, the company has provided hundreds of thousands of guests with the brand's signature fun and escapism. In 2024, the company launched the Margaritaville at Sea Islander, further elevating its formula for getaways.
Originally built for Costa Cruises, the Costa Fortuna will become the largest ship in the Margaritaville at Sea fleet, with over 102,500 gross tons and a capacity for approximately 3,450 passengers. Featuring more than 1,340 cabins, 13 passenger decks, ample outdoor spaces, and an eight-story central atrium, the ship will be redesigned by Margaritaville at Sea in the signature island style that has been key to the company's success.
“For the past three years, we have focused intensely on building Margaritaville at Sea by offering more of what our guests love: a unique, relaxed island vibe with award-winning hospitality. With the acquisition of our third ship in three years, we are proud to once again invite passengers to experience the Margaritaville mindset at sea,” said Christopher Ivy, CEO of Margaritaville at Sea.
John Cohlan, CEO of Margaritaville, added: “Margaritaville at Sea has had an exceptional track record since its launch. We are delighted to once again expand our brand experience at sea and share the distinctive features and amenities of our cruise line with even more passengers.”
The ship will continue to be operated by Costa Cruises as Costa Fortuna until the end of next year.
