Seabourn presents two new voyages to see the total solar eclipse of 2026 on the Seabourn Ovation and the Seabourn Sojourn, exploring northern Europe and the Mediterranean in late summer 2026.
On August 12, 2026, when the moon passes between the Earth and the sun to create a total solar eclipse, both the Seabourn Ovation and the Seabourn Sojourn will be strategically aligned to offer guests a unique opportunity to see the rare spectacle.

Two opportunities to see the eclipse
According to the U.S. National Science Foundation's National Solar Observatory, the 2026 total solar eclipse will pass over the Arctic Ocean, Greenland, Iceland, the Atlantic Ocean, Portugal, and Spain. Seabourn will strategically align the Seabourn Ovation and Seabourn Sojourn to give guests a unique opportunity to view the cosmic phenomenon.
The Seabourn Ovation will embark on a 14-day Western Ireland, Gems, and Solar Eclipse voyage, departing August 8, 2026, from Dover, England, to Reykjavik, Iceland. The ship will visit unique ports in Western Ireland, including Galway and Killybegs, and will position itself off the coast of Ireland in the Atlantic Ocean to view the eclipse. Seabourn will also host a special Seabourn Conversations program with Jane A. Green, a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society, to educate guests about the solar eclipse. This two-week cruise is one of several planned by the Seabourn Ovation to sail around Northern Europe in the summer of 2026.
Passengers will be able to witness the total solar eclipse as the Seabourn Sojourn explores the Mediterranean on the 10-day Spanish Gems & Solar Eclipse cruise, departing from Barcelona on August 7, 2026, to visit Morocco, Saint Tropez, and other destinations along the Spanish coast. The Seabourn Sojourn will be in the Balearic Sea off the coast of Spain when the eclipse begins, which will be most visible near the horizon close to sunset. Seabourn will offer a special Seabourn Conversations program with Dallas Campbell, a science presenter, author, and broadcaster who will educate guests about the solar eclipse.
The visual experience may change depending on the weather or cloud cover.
