The ship's inaugural season in Alaska also marks the introduction of the SALT program to the region, which will connect Silversea guests with local culinary culture like never before, through immersive experiences both on board and on land.

The Silver Nova Alaska season offers 18 voyages, with two itinerary options available for summer and fall bookings. Sample voyages include:

  • From Vancouver to Seward (Anchorage, Alaska) June 20-27, 2024: Silversea guests will discover the salmon capital of the world in Ketchikan. A cannery tour and lumberjack demonstration will allow guests to explore some of the essential elements of the region's fishing and logging past.
  • From Seward (Anchorage, Alaska) to Vancouver from July 25 to August 1, 2024: Travelers will explore this far-off land of bears, wild landscapes, and icy adventures on this seven-day journey between Seward and Vancouver, sailing between islands to witness the wildlife of the Inside Passage.

SALT, an acronym for Sea and Land Taste, is Silversea's award-winning culinary enrichment program, giving guests the opportunity to travel more deeply through a variety of destination-focused dining experiences, both onboard and on land.

Complementing the shore excursions, new additions to the SALT Alaska lineup include:

  • SALT's kitchen will offer local dishes and delicacies, including:
    • Cured Duck Breast with Traditional Alaskan Frybread and Redcurrant Jam.
    • Alaskan Salmon Empanada: The best local salmon, presented in crispy puff pastry with brown rice, cabbage and mushrooms.
    • Venison Ravioli with Wild Mushroom: Homemade pasta filled with venison, drizzled with browned butter and served on wild mushroom duxelles.
    • Baked Alaska: An iconic treat, the sponge cake is filled with homemade salted honeycomb ice cream and dark chocolate ice cream, wrapped in caramelized meringue.
  • The SALT lab class, titled “Wild Salmon: An Alaskan Way of Life,” will explore three simple and varied ways to prepare salmon, including salmon cakes, smoked salmon cream, and pickled salmon, by Emma Teal Laukitis and Claire Neaton, who grew up on a farm in Alaska’s remote Aleutian Islands.
  • In the evenings, the SALT laboratory transforms into the SALT Chef's Table, Silversea's intimate and interactive dining experience. The SALT Chef's Table features locally sourced ingredients and creatively reimagined classic dishes.

We are thrilled to celebrate the launch of SALT in Alaska,” said Adam Sachs, director of SALT, Silversea. “The program will allow our guests to connect meaningfully with the region through personalized and enriching culinary experiences.”

“From exploring the best ways to prepare local wild salmon in expertly designed SALT lab classes to immersive land-based experiences, the variety of culinary experiences on offer will provide a unique perspective through which our guests can immerse themselves deeply in the local culture“.
