With the arrival of spring, the first cruise ships begin calling at the terminals of Copenhagen Malmö Port, in Copenhagen, Malmö, and Visby. The port will receive a total of 432 calls across the three terminals. The first call of the year was by the expedition cruise ship Ocean Nova at Nordre Toldbod, Copenhagen.
“We are excited to see a total of 432 cruise ship calls expected in 2023 at our ports, with a well-balanced mix of smaller, medium, and large vessels representing different segments and nationalities. Each year we experience a gradual increase in calls by smaller cruise ships, including exploration and niche vessels, which are favorites among destinations and local communities,” says Luis de Carvalho, Commercial Director of Cruises at CMP.
This year features a total of 9 inaugural calls, including those of Explora 1, Disney Dream, SH Diana, Costa Firenze, Scenic Eclipse, and the christening ceremony of MSC Cruises' new eco-friendly cruise ship Euribia, which will take place on June 8 in Copenhagen.
“Once again, our three Nordic cruise destinations are popular with both cruise guests and cruise lines. Together with all our destinations and local partners, we continue to work hard in our efforts to build a more prosperous and sustainable cruise industry,” adds Luis de Carvalho.
