AIDA has begun its stops with the AIDAsol and the AIDAmar, docking in Rostock-Warnemünde, a port where they were connected to an onshore power facility, being supplied with green energy.
At Warnemünde's P7 and P8 berths, electricity can be supplied to two cruise ships of up to 20 MVA at the same time.
In July 2022, the AIDAprima was the first cruise ship in the fleet to use a marine biofuel blend for fuel supply.
“We are delighted with this successful launch in Rostock-Warnemünde,” said Felix Eichhorn, President of AIDA Cruises. “Our goal is to be able to use shore power in all our ports in the future.”
