Luis de Carvalho joins the Port of Copenhagen Malmö as Commercial Director of Cruises

CMP is a full-service port operating in Copenhagen, Malmö, and Visby, receiving approximately 500 cruise ships and 1 million passengers annually. While Copenhagen is the main port of call in the Baltic Sea region, with easy access to a well-connected international airport, all the cruise terminals are located very close to city centers and airports, and are all popular for transit stops.

CMP is working towards becoming one of the most sustainable ports in the world and is on track to become carbon neutral by 2025, among other things, by focusing on an efficient and sustainable cruise service.

Luis's extensive career in the cruise, tourism, and travel sector spans more than 35 years, during which he has successfully managed the development of ports and destinations in Northern Europe, the Baltic, the Mediterranean, the Atlantic Islands, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. He began his career in the cruise industry in 1986 with Premier Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean Cruise Line in Miami, and subsequently spent 12 years with the then-Crystal Cruises, based in Los Angeles. For the past 10 years, Luis has led the European division of Bermello Ajamil & Partners, a leading AEP firm.
