The family-owned company MSC Cruises thanks all the world's healthcare heroes for their work

MSC Cruises today announced the launch of a new cruise fare discount program applicable until the end of 2021 for all healthcare professionals worldwide as a way of saying “thank you” for their contribution to the fight against the pandemic and letting them know that, as soon as they are ready, they will be able to enjoy a well-deserved vacation with their loved ones.

The family-owned company MSC Cruises thanks all the world's healthcare heroes for their work

Pierfrancesco Vago, CEO of MSC Cruises, said: “As a family business, we believe this is the only way to sincerely express our gratitude to all the world’s healthcare professionals – and their families – for their selfless and tireless dedication, professionalism and courage in the fight against the current global pandemic.”

"For all of them: frontline and office workers; doctors; nurses, pharmacists; those who work in research laboratories; in fact, any healthcare worker, at any level.".

“Their work and dedication have also helped us pave the way for our new health and hygiene protocol, which has already been successfully implemented on the first ship to restart operations in the Western Mediterranean, MSC Grandiosa – our flagship –.”.

“For the past five months, we have worked against the clock with highly qualified international experts in the field of medicine to develop a comprehensive health and hygiene operations protocol to protect the well-being of all passengers on board our ships, as well as all the communities we touch in the ports we call at and the tourist destinations our customers visit.”.

“The backbone of our protocol is based on new data, COVID-19 research and a better understanding of the virus that health professionals around the world have established during the pandemic, and for this we want to thank them for their selfless and tireless work.”.

“And what better way to do it than on a cruise vacation with their loved ones, who have endured so much to support them over the past few months and continue to do so?”.

“We look forward to welcoming you on board when you’re ready for your well-deserved vacation. We’d also love to hear your feedback on our protocol, which you’ll be able to experience firsthand on board.”.

The special cruise fare discount program, “thank you,” will be available to healthcare professionals and their families starting today, August 31, for all MSC Cruises sailings until the end of 2021. This fare includes all cruises until December 31, 2021, and bookings made until April 30, 2021.

These special cabin fares can offer discounts of up to 50% or more off the regular rate and can be booked through your usual travel agency or the MSC Cruises reservations center. In addition, the program will include a series of onboard activities to openly recognize and celebrate these special passengers and their families.

MSC Cruises halted operations due to the global pandemic in mid-March and resumed sailing on August 16 when MSC Grandiosa departed from the Italian port of Genoa for 7-night cruises with stops in Rome, Naples, Palermo, and Valletta, before returning to its home port again.

The ship is currently halfway through its next 7-night cruise in the western Mediterranean.

All passengers and crew undergo a thorough pre-boarding health check, which includes universal testing for all passengers and crew, as well as protected excursions at each land stop.

Healthcare professionals can learn more about the discount program by visiting www.msccruceros.es from August 31, 2020.
