Ahead of Legend of the Seas' arrival in Fort Lauderdale, Royal Caribbean has named retired U.S. Air Force General Lori J. Robinson as its official godmother. A pioneering leader, role model for women in the military, and dedicated advocate for individuals and families balancing career and home life, General Robinson has dedicated her career to breaking barriers as the nation's first female combatant commander and a retired leader of NORAD and NORTHCOM, inspiring generations by her example. As godmother, she will join a long maritime tradition of bestowing protection upon the ship, its crew, and the millions of vacationers who will create memories aboard Legend for years to come.
Following its European debut this summer, Legend of the Seas will arrive in Fort Lauderdale this November, where Royal Caribbean will officially welcome the ship to the United States during a Veterans Day naming ceremony with General Robinson, brand executives, crew, and vacationers. The November 11 celebration will mark the ship's next chapter, while also recognizing General Robinson's pioneering leadership and the service provided by veterans, active-duty military personnel, and their families.
