Celebrity River Cruises launches its “Before and After Stays” programs in four European cities

Celebrity River Cruises has announced the launch of Before and After Stays, a new multi-day immersive experience offering that will allow guests to discover even more of Europe before embarking on or after completing their river cruise.

Celebrity River Cruises launches its “Before and After Stays” programs in four European citiesStarting today, you can book the 2027 programs in Prague and Budapest, while in 2028 the offer will be expanded to include stays in Amsterdam and Lausanne.

As a natural extension of the Celebrity River Cruises onboard experience, each two- or three-night stay has been designed to offer a deep and authentic discovery of each destination, with activities led by local experts and a level of service that reflects Celebrity Cruises' signature hospitality.

“Every element of a Celebrity River Cruises voyage is designed to bring our guests closer to the culture, history, and people of Europe, both onboard and ashore,” said Laura Hodges Bethge, president of Celebrity Cruises. “Our Before and After Stays programs are much more than an extension of the cruise: they are designed to create a deeper connection with the cities, with the people who bring them to life, and with each other, leaving behind unique memories and stories that can only come from truly experiencing a place.”.

Each stay is led by local specialists and includes a daily Discovery Collection excursion, Celebrity River Cruises' proposal to explore destinations from a more authentic and exclusive perspective.

Travelers can choose from at least three daily themed tours, tailored to different interests such as history, gastronomy, art, or simply the pleasure of discovering a city at their own pace.

Local Storytellers are not conventional tour guides, but experts who accompany small groups on an included daily excursion, showing the everyday essence of each city beyond its monuments.

For their part, Destination Insiders act as authentic local hosts, recommending hidden gems, experiences and suggestions that don't usually appear in travel guides.

In Amsterdam, for example, a contemporary artist guides travelers through the city's urban art scene, exploring its most creative neighborhoods and ending the experience with the opportunity to participate in the creation of a collective mural.

In Prague, those drawn to history and mystery can follow in the footsteps of alchemists and ancient scholars amidst Gothic spires and hidden symbols. History buffs can descend into medieval walls, explore secret shelters, and discover Cold War bunkers, while food lovers can uncover Czech brewing tradition by visiting historic taverns and learning the stories behind each beer.

The Before and After Stays programs bring Celebrity River Cruises' premium service philosophy ashore.

The stays include accommodation in premium or superior category hotels, located in central locations, daily breakfast, transfers between the hotel and the ship, and a carefully curated program of activities that combines organized visits with free time to explore each destination. Guests can also book optional premium experiences to further immerse themselves in each city.

Celebrity takes care of all the pre-arrangement, so travelers don't have to worry about bookings or coordination and can fully enjoy the experience.

Available for the 2027 and 2028 seasons

Celebrity River Cruises will offer 33 departures in 2027 and 160 in 2028, visiting more than 50 destinations along the Rhine and Danube rivers.

These itineraries will allow you to discover Europe in a more authentic way, from tasting regional wines to strolling through villages with cobbled streets, offering a new perspective of the continent every day.

As part of the Royal Caribbean Group, Celebrity Cruises collaborates with local organizations and small businesses in the regions it visits to generate economic opportunities year-round, supporting artisans, farmers, and cultural institutions. It also promotes programs aimed at preserving cultural heritage, fostering local traditions, and contributing to educational, social, and infrastructure improvement projects in European coastal communities.
