A-ROSA Reederei GmbH , a subsidiary of the A-ROSA Group, has appointed Renata Hug-Suter as its new Managing Director. Hug-Suter officially assumed the position on June 15, 2026.
As part of the management transition process, the former CEO, Markus Zoepke, will continue to collaborate with A-ROSA and its shareholders in an advisory capacity, ensuring continuity of management and a smooth transfer of knowledge and responsibilities.
Renata Hug-Suter has over 15 years of experience in the cruise and hospitality industry. Until now, she served as CEO and Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) of the Rivertech Group. Previously, she held various senior positions within the Sea Chefs Group, where she served as Executive Director of Human Resources. Her professional experience is primarily focused on finance, management control, and human resources management.
In his new role, he will be responsible for the operational management of A-ROSA's headquarters in Chur, Switzerland, working alongside CEO Rolf-Dieter Maltzahn and CFO Andrej Vizjak. Hug-Suter will lead the shipping company's future development with a focus on financial strengthening, internal organization, and talent management.
The shareholders and management of A-ROSA have expressed their sincere gratitude to Markus Zoepke for his dedication, leadership and commitment for more than two decades in service to the company.
Zoepke has been with A-ROSA for over 24 years and has played a pivotal role in the company's evolution into one of Europe's leading river cruise operators. During his tenure, he contributed to numerous strategic and operational milestones, including fleet expansion, the development of new products and destinations, the company's organizational growth, and the successful management of particularly challenging market periods.
