Royal Caribbean celebrated a major milestone in the construction of its seventh Oasis-class ship with a keel-laying ceremony at Chantiers de l'Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire, France. The event officially marks the start of assembly for the new cruise line and kicks off the next two years of construction before its anticipated debut in 2028.
During the ceremony, teams from Royal Caribbean and Chantiers de l'Atlantique placed a layer of newly minted coins under the first steel block in the dry dock, known as the keel. This long-standing maritime tradition celebrates the start of the ship's voyage, wishing good luck to the vessel, its crew, and future vacationers.
The ship, which will be named later, will join the revolutionary Oasis-class range in 2028 and will offer bold new adventures, outstanding dining, immersive entertainment and experiences designed for all types of vacationers.
