Viking hasadded two new riverboats to its fleet, the Viking Annar and the Viking Fjolvar. Both vessels were built at the Meyer Neptun Werftin Rostock-Warnemünde.
The Viking Annar will operate on the company's itineraries along the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers, while the Viking Fjolvar will be used for tours along the Seine River.

Viking Annar
With a capacity for 190 passengers distributed in 95 cabins, the Viking Annar has been specifically designed to navigate the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers.
As a member of the Viking Longship class, it incorporates the elegant Scandinavian design and innovations that characterize the cruise line. Among these are its patented square bow, which allows for three full decks, as well as the Aquavit Terrace, an indoor-outdoor sundeck. The ship also features asymmetrical walkways that create authentic two-room suites.
Viking Annar will operate itineraries such as Rhine Getaway, Grand European Tour, Passage to Eastern Europe, European Sojourn and Christmas on the Rhine.
Viking Fjolvar
The Viking Fjolvar accommodates 168 passengers in 84 cabins and was specifically designed to cruise the Seine River. It can also dock at Viking's exclusive pier in the heart of Paris.
The vessel incorporates the same design elements that characterize the Viking Longships and will run round-trip itineraries from Paris, including the Paris & the Heart of Normandy programs and the new Christmastime in Paris & Normandy.
Viking maintains its long-term growth strategy and continues to strengthen its position as one of the world's leading operators of experiential travel.
According to its current order book, the company expects to receive 22 additional new river vessels before 2028, as well as nine new ocean-going vessels before 2031 and two new expedition ships before that same date.
With these additions, Viking expects to have 114 river ships by 2028 and a fleet of 26 ocean and expedition ships by 2031.
