As Windstar Cruises ’ newest yacht, Star Seeker, sets sail for the first time in Alaska this month, the company is already looking ahead with bookings open for its 2028 Alaska cruise season. The itineraries feature a collection of small-ship voyages designed to bring travelers closer to glaciers, wildlife, and remote communities. Guests who book early can take advantage of the Early Booking Offer, available through June 30, 2026, for the best rates and suite selection on these coveted voyages. The 2028 Alaska season will feature 27 sailings across six itineraries, running from May through August. The program combines seven-day cruises, longer 10- to 12-day voyages, Denali Cruise Tours, and extended Star Collector trips. Some itineraries are designed as convenient week-long getaways, departing from and returning to Juneau, one of Alaska's most iconic destinations.
Signature Expeditions depart directly from the ship and include guided kayak and Zodiac excursions to explore tranquil inlets, glacial coastlines, and waters teeming with wildlife. Expedition guides accompany travelers throughout the journey, leading activities and sharing knowledge about the region's landscapes, ecosystems, and history.
Cruise tours to Denali National Park, home to North America's tallest mountain, are another of the company's major attractions. These programs allow you to enjoy more time in the Alaskan wilderness than other cruise lines, offering a deeper immersion in the vast wilderness and iconic landscapes of Denali.
With a capacity for only 224 passengers, the new Star Seeker, featuring 112 suites, offers an intimate and welcoming atmosphere. Nearly all accommodations include a private veranda or floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows that open onto the sea, allowing guests to enjoy the Alaskan landscapes throughout the voyage.
Each trip also features guest speakers, musicians, and artists who bring passengers closer to Alaskan culture and history.
The season includes six different programs that combine everything from classic tours of the Inside Passage to transoceanic voyages.
- Scenic Alaska: Classic 7-day cruise between Vancouver and Juneau, with stops in Sitka, Wrangell, Ketchikan and sailing past Dawes Glacier on Endicott Arm.
- Alaskan Splendors: 10 or 11 day itinerary between Vancouver and Seward, including Misty Fjords, Sitka, Haines and Kenai Fjords National Park.
- Alaskan Explorations & Denali Cruise Tour: combines 4 days of land exploration with 10-12 night cruises, including wildlife viewing, rail journeys and optional activities such as kayaking or sleigh rides.
- Alaskan Coastal Adventures & Denali Discovery Cruise Tours: 11-day trip combining the Alaskan coast with experiences in Talkeetna, Denali and Fairbanks.
- Star Collector: Alaska Discovery & Pacific Crossing: Extended 24-day journey from Vancouver to Tokyo (or vice versa), combining Alaska with a transoceanic voyage across the Pacific.
- Star Collector: Alaska Adventures & Wonders of Japan: 33-day itinerary between Vancouver and Osaka or Tokyo, uniting Alaska and Japan in a single experience.
