The MSC Poesia made its maiden call in Victoria, British Columbia, as part of MSC Cruises Alaska season. To commemorate this important milestone, representatives from the Greater Victoria Harbour Authority, port authorities, community leaders, and MSC Cruises executives participated onboard in the traditional plaque exchange ceremony, celebrating the growing collaboration between the cruise line and the local community.
Prior to the ceremony, MSC Cruises welcomed members of the Songhee and Eskimo nations aboard MSC Poesia, who offered guests traditional performances of song, dance, and storytelling in honor of the rich cultural heritage, traditions, and historical presence of these communities in the region.
The MSC Poesia currently operates seven-night itineraries from Seattle to Alaska through September 2026, with stops in Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point, and Juneau, Alaska, as well as Victoria, British Columbia. The cruises also include scenic sailing along Endicott Arm, offering views of the Dawes Glacier and Alaska's spectacular fjord landscapes.
During MSC Cruises' Alaska season, travelers visiting Victoria can discover the city's coastal charm, historic architecture, and vibrant culinary scene through a variety of excursions organized by the cruise line. From strolling through the picturesque Inner Harbor and visiting the world-famous Butchart Gardens to exploring local markets and enjoying culinary experiences featuring Pacific seafood and regional flavors, the destination offers an authentic immersion into the essence of British Columbia.

Passengers sailing aboard MSC Poesia this season will discover both new spaces and renovated areas following the ship's recent modernization. Among the highlights is the addition of the MSC Yacht Club, the company's exclusive "ship within a ship" concept, offering private facilities, premium service, and 24-hour butler and concierge attention.
In addition, the ship incorporates new specialty restaurants such as Butcher's Cut, inspired by classic American steakhouses, and Kaito Sushi Bar, along with a renovated MSC Aurea Spa and an improved MSC Gym equipped by Technogym®.
The Alaska season also features a Pacific Northwest-inspired culinary program, with themed dishes and beverages created specifically for MSC Cruises' itineraries in the region. The menus celebrate local cuisine with a wider selection of Pacific Northwest seafood, along with hot drinks and Alaskan-inspired cocktails available throughout the voyage.
For entertainment, MSC Poesia presents “Dirty Dancing: In Concert,” a live-to-film show featuring singers, dancers, and a live band accompanying the iconic film. The offerings are rounded out with live music, themed parties, comedy performances, family activities, and Alaska-focused enrichment programs, such as expert talks, storytelling during scenic cruises, and interactive workshops inspired by the region's wildlife, geography, and culture.
As part of its commitment to responsible operations in Alaska, MSC Cruises will collaborate with the marine conservation organization ORCA. During peak whale-watching season, an ORCA-trained marine mammal observer will travel aboard MSC Poesia to support crew training, guest education, and research on whale behavior and interactions with ships in Alaskan waters.
Passengers will also have the opportunity to learn more about Alaska's marine wildlife and natural environment through educational programs developed on board.
