VidantaWorld Voyages has announced the 2027 Mediterranean itineraries for its ultra yacht ELEGANT, a season marked by exclusive experiences such as a specially designed trip to observe a total solar eclipse from the sea and a stop in Cannes coinciding with the opening of the prestigious Film Festival.
Bookings are now open for ELEGANT's 2027 Mediterranean season, which will include itineraries between May and September with extended stopovers and overnight stays in port in some of the most iconic destinations in the Mediterranean.
One of the highlights will be the voyage on August 2, 2027, when ELEGANT will sail between Kalamata (Greece) and Chania (Crete), positioning itself directly in the path of totality of the solar eclipse. From this privileged position at sea, guests will be able to witness all phases of the astronomical phenomenon, from first contact to totality, with unobstructed views and horizons.
The season will also include a stop in Cannes on May 12, 2027, coinciding with the opening of the world-famous Cannes Film Festival, offering passengers a prime location during one of Europe's most important cultural events.
“We designed the 2027 itineraries with time in mind: to have more time in the places that truly matter,” explained Ivan Chavez, Executive Vice President of Grupo Vidanta. “From Cannes at the start of the festival to the eclipse at sea, these trips are conceived around moments that define a destination.”.
Unlike viewing from land, ELEGANT will offer unique advantages for viewing the eclipse, with totality viewing at sea, with the sun completely covered and day turning into darkness; 360-degree panoramic views from spacious exterior decks; real-time navigation positioning to optimize viewing conditions; and an exclusive, uncrowded environment, limited to just 216 guests.
Originally built for over 600 passengers, ELEGANT has been completely redesigned to accommodate only 216 guests in 108 spacious suites and cabins, creating a much more intimate experience, closer to that of a private yacht.
“From the outset, our goal was to redefine what luxury at sea should feel like,” Chavez added. “We took a ship designed for more than 600 passengers and deliberately reimagined it for just over 200, because true luxury isn’t about adding more, but about creating space, comfort, and a truly personalized level of service.” Among the ELEGANT’s standout features are more space per guest with a near 1:1 crew-to-passenger ratio, as well as spacious suites and residential-style accommodations, including butler service in select categories and expansive public areas designed for comfort and freedom of movement.
The 2027 itineraries have been designed with extended port calls, evening departures, and overnight stays to allow passengers to enjoy destinations beyond typical tourist hours. Highlights include overnight stays in iconic destinations such as Mykonos, Santorini, and Monte Carlo; late departures to fully experience the nightlife; and on-demand tender service for greater freedom of exploration.
“We want to showcase the Mediterranean at night as well, not just during the day,” Chavez stated. “The most beautiful moments in Europe happen at sunset, and it would be a shame if our guests only saw sunsets as they left one destination for the next.”.
The new program includes a carefully curated selection of seven-night Mediterranean cruises:
- Mediterranean spring trips (April-June): Portugal, Spain, France and Italy during the quieter months at the start of the season.
- Cannes Film Festival Cruise (May 8-15, 2027): arrival in Cannes coinciding with the opening of the festival.
- Classic Mediterranean (summer): Italy's iconic coastal routes, including Capri and the Amalfi Coast.
- Greek Islands and Adriatic: Croatia, Montenegro and Greece with extended stays in Mykonos and Santorini.
- Total solar eclipse trip (July 31-August 7, 2027): round trip itinerary from Athens with positioning on the path of totality between Kalamata and Crete.
- Late-season Mediterranean (September): Spain, France and Italy with warm weather and less tourist traffic.
