Princess Cruises invites Seattle residents and visitors alike to a unique spectacle: an Alaska-inspired drone show that will illuminate the city center for one night only. The free event will take place on May 1st at 8:30 p.m. and can be viewed from the International Fountain Mall area in Seattle Center, where the public can gather to enjoy an aerial choreography that pays homage to the beauty and essence of Alaska.
This show will mark the official start of the arrival of the company's newest ship, the Star Princess, which will begin its inaugural Alaskan season from Seattle on May 3. The celebration represents a significant milestone for the cruise line and reinforces its commitment to the Pacific Northwest as a key gateway to Alaska.

Following the May 1 event, the Star Princess will set sail on its maiden voyage to Alaska on May 3 from Pier 91, beginning a series of 20 round-trip cruises scheduled through September 13, 2026. Throughout the season, the ship is expected to carry approximately 90,000 passengers through Alaska's famed Inside Passage, with immersive experiences in iconic ports such as Ketchikan, Juneau, and Skagway, as well as visits to glaciers like Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier.
The Star Princess joins Princess Cruises' impressive 2026 Alaska itinerary, which will be the largest in the company's history for the region, featuring eight ships, 180 sailings, and 19 destinations. Alongside it, the Royal Princess will also be based in Seattle, offering seven-day Inside Passage itineraries departing from the same port.
In addition, the company offers the possibility of complementing the cruise with land programs, including customized itineraries with accommodations in the heart of nature or visits to up to four national parks in a single trip.
Both the Star Princess and the Royal Princess will resume operations from Seattle in the 2027 Alaska season, with itineraries already on sale.
