Oceania Cruises presents new details of La Table par Maîtres Cuisiniers de France, its highly anticipated new restaurant that will debut on board its next-generation ship, Oceania Sonata.
The result of a historic culinary collaboration, La Table is the first and only restaurant at sea launched with the prestigious endorsement of the Maîtres Cuisiniers de France, an international institution dedicated to preserving and promoting the heritage of French gastronomy. This endorsement reflects Oceania Cruises' commitment to culinary excellence.
Designed as an intimate space, La Table will be the most exclusive fine dining restaurant at sea, with seating for only 18 diners and a refined experience available only by reservation, combining classic French techniques with innovative pairings.
As the only cruise line with two Master Chefs of France leading its culinary program—Executive Culinary Directors Chef Alexis Quaretti and Chef Eric Barale—Oceania Cruises continues to set the standard for onboard dining. The rotating menu will feature a selection of dishes carefully crafted in collaboration with various guest chefs from this prestigious association.
“At Oceania Cruises, our dedication to cuisine is based on continuous improvement and respect for tradition, a philosophy we share with the historic organization Maîtres Cuisiniers de France. Through La Table, chefs Quaretti and Barale bring this extraordinary collaboration to life. It will be a true celebration of culinary heritage, mastery, and modern luxury, in a uniquely Oceania Cruises style,” said Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer of the company.
The menus will highlight exquisite expressions of French culinary art, from delicate Granny Smith apple tarts with langoustines to Dover sole stuffed with escargots, accompanied by rosette-shaped vegetables and a white wine sauce. Iconic creations such as a potato roll with spider crab topped with Sturia Oscietra caviar reflect the precision and contemporary touch that define La Table. Chefs Quaretti and Barale, along with their teams, will continue to evolve the gastronomic offerings to ensure a constantly evolving experience.
“This restaurant is very personal to us,” said Chef Quaretti. “It reflects the values we share: respect for technique, appreciation for flavor, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. In the elegant and serene ambiance of this new space aboard the Oceania Sonata, La Table will offer a truly memorable experience.”
The introduction of La Table reinforces the philosophy that has defined Oceania Cruises since its inception: to offer The Finest Cuisine at Sea®. The space will also host the renowned Dom Pérignon, with a six-course tasting menu paired with three exceptional vintages of champagne.
In addition to La Table and the new Nikkei Kitchen, Oceania Sonata will feature ten top-tier dining spaces, including the iconic Grand Dining Room and flagship restaurants such as Jacques (French cuisine), Red Ginger (Pan-Asian), Polo Grill (classic steakhouse) and Toscana (authentic Italian cuisine).
