Century Cruises boosts its global expansion with new ships and destinations

Century Cruises , a company specializing in river cruises in China, continues to consolidate its international growth with an ambitious expansion strategy that includes new ships, opening new markets, and developing itineraries in key destinations such as Egypt. Currently, the cruise line has a fleet of seven ships that operate primarily on the Yangtze River, one of Asia's most iconic river routes.

Century Cruises boosts its global expansion with new ships and destinations In this context, the company has announced that it will reveal further details throughout April regarding its growth plans, which aim to position it as a key player in the global cruise industry. This move coincides with the full operation of its Miami office, from where Century Cruises intends to strengthen its presence in the international market.

According to David Fredericks, vice president of the Americas office, the past year has been a turning point for the company: “We are a company with a 30-year history that operates like a start-up. The results of the last 12 months have been very positive, but this is just the beginning.”.

The company's growth is also reflected in its commercial results, which have exceeded initial expectations and prompted the addition of new professionals to strengthen the team. This increased demand supports Century Cruises' commitment to a product that combines modernity, sustainability, and an immersive cultural experience at the destination.

One of the cornerstones of this expansion will be strengthening its fleet. The Century Star, a new ship that will join its roster and follow the company's characteristic efficient and environmentally friendly design, is scheduled to debut in September 2026. This launch is part of a broader strategy that includes adding new vessels in the coming years.

In addition to its established presence in China, where it operates on the Yangtze River with itineraries that explore iconic landscapes such as the Three Gorges, Century Cruises is already working on its geographic diversification. Among its most notable plans is the start of operations on the Nile River in Egypt, one of the most attractive and fastest-growing markets in the river cruise segment.

The shipping company also remains committed to its relationship with travel agents, a key channel in its commercial strategy. Following the success of its familiarization trip organized in 2025, in which 40 international agents participated in China, the company plans to repeat the initiative this year with the aim of further strengthening ties and showcasing its product firsthand.
