Amadeus will debut on the Douro River in 2028Designed specifically to navigate the winding stretches of the Douro River and its historic locks, the Amadeus Douro will combine the brand's distinctive elegance with innovative hybrid propulsion technology. Conceived to offer an intimate and refined cruising experience while reducing its environmental impact, the ship will allow guests to discover one of Europe's most captivating river valleys, where terraced vineyards, historic villages, and sun-drenched hills create a unique setting.

“We are delighted to bring the AMADEUS experience to the Douro River, one of the most beautiful and culturally rich regions in Europe,” said Corina Lueftner, Sales Director of Lüftner Cruises. “The Douro Valley has become an increasingly popular destination, and with the AMADEUS Douro, we are excited to offer our partners and customers a truly immersive way to discover its extraordinary landscapes, winemaking tradition, and historic cities.”.

True to the elegance that defines the AMADEUS fleet, the AMADEUS Douro will accommodate 111 passengers in 54 cabins and two suites, most featuring the company's signature panoramic tilt-and-turn windows or private balconies. Its spacious public areas invite guests to relax and enjoy the ever-changing scenery of the Douro Valley, whether from the upper deck with its swimming pool, lounge area, and bar, or from the popular Café Vienna, one of the most beloved social spaces on board.

The culinary offering will showcase the flavors of Portugal, with gourmet cuisine paired with local wines, allowing guests to discover the region's rich culinary heritage while cruising through its iconic vineyards.

The ship will operate a selection of carefully designed itineraries along the Douro River, including round trips from Porto that explore the historic wine region to the border with Spain.
