The MSC Poesia will feature the MSC Yacht Club following its renovation, making its debut in Alaska

MSC Cruises ' MSC Poesia will enter dry dock at Palumbo Malta Shipyard in Malta, marking the next phase of the cruise line's ongoing investment to enhance the passenger experience across its fleet.

The MSC Poesia will feature the MSC Yacht Club following its renovation, making its debut in AlaskaMSC Poesia is the second Musica-class ship to undergo a major refurbishment at the Maltese shipyard, following its sister ship, MSC Magnifica, which left the shipyard in December.

The upgrades will introduce new premium spaces and experiences, combining greater comfort with lively social gathering places, ahead of MSC Poesia Alaskan season in May 2026.

When the refurbishments are complete, MSC Poesia will feature the MSC Yacht Club, the company's exclusive "yacht within a ship" concept, offering 69 elegantly appointed suites, private 24-hour butler service, and more. In addition, the ship will also have two new specialty restaurants: Butcher's Cut, an authentic American-style steakhouse, and Kaito Sushi Bar, inspired by the Far East, where guests can savor expertly prepared sushi and exquisite authentic Asian dishes.

This upgrade will also include an MSC Aurea Spa and an MSC Gym with a new design and Technogym® technology, with a men's hair salon, several training studios, an outdoor Aurea zone and 15 exclusive solariums.

The refurbishment work is expected to be completed in April, in time for the MSC Poesia Alaskan season.

Gianni Onorato, CEO of MSC Cruises, stated: “This major refurbishment of MSC Poesia reflects our ongoing efforts and commitment to investing in our fleet and providing our guests with an exceptional experience. This refurbishment underscores MSC Cruises’ commitment to offering its guests the best possible experience and modern facilities. We are proud to add the MSC Yacht Club, new dining concepts, and much more to MSC Poesia, and to offer our guests more choices and comfort than ever before, ahead of the ship’s Alaskan season.”

The refurbishment of MSC Poesia is part of the broader improvement and refurbishment program carried out by MSC Cruises in the last decade.

The project has been designed and managed entirely by the technical department of MSC Cruises and will be carried out at the Palumbo Malta Shipyard, a strategic center for the maintenance of the MSC Cruises fleet and large-scale refurbishment projects in Europe.

Earlier this month, MSC Cruises announced the addition of its famous MSC Yacht Club to two more ships, MSC Musica and MSC Orchestra.

Once completed, these latest improvements will mean that all four Musica-class ships, MSC Poesia, MSC Magnifica, MSC Musica and MSC Orchestra, will have been renovated to incorporate the MSC Yacht Club.

From May to September 2026, MSC Poesia will offer 7-night Alaska itineraries from Seattle, sailing to some of the region's most iconic destinations.

Following its Alaskan season, the ship will redeploy to offer round-trip Caribbean cruises from Miami during the winter of 2026-2027, visiting destinations such as Jamaica, Colombia, Costa Rica, Aruba, Curaçao, and Belize, before returning to Alaska in the summer of 2027. This return voyage will offer passengers the opportunity to visit spectacular destinations such as Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point, Tracy Arm, and Juneau (Alaska), as well as Victoria (British Columbia, Canada). MSC Yacht Club suites aboard MSC Poesia are now available for booking.
