The Nieuw Amsterdam will make its South American debut this season, operating itineraries of up to 41 days between October 2027 and March 2028. Guests will be able to admire the icy landscapes of Antarctica, the Amazon River, the Chilean fjords, and many of the most iconic ports on the South American continent.

That connection to the destination continues onboard, with regionally inspired dishes like Argentinian empanadas and cultural activities such as Spanish or tango lessons that bring the journey to life.”.
The arrival of the Nieuw Amsterdam brings greater capacity and an enhanced onboard experience for the 2027-2028 season. The ship replaces the Oosterdam and offers more cabin and suite options, as well as a diverse range of dining and entertainment.
Onboard, guests can enjoy restaurants like Tamarind and Morimoto by Sea, as well as programs designed to bring them closer to the destinations visited. From scenic sailing through glacier-lined channels to land excursions to iconic sites like Machu Picchu, the Nieuw Amsterdam adds a new dimension to exploring South America and Antarctica in comfort and style.
The season begins with the 26-day Legendary voyage “Costa Inca: Mexico and Latin America,” departing on October 7, 2027, from Vancouver, Canada, to San Antonio (Santiago, Chile) aboard the Nieuw Amsterdam. The itinerary includes overnight stops in Manta (Quito), Ecuador, and Callao (Lima), Peru, as well as port visits in California, Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Peru, and Chile. Highlights include crossing the equator and visiting Machu Picchu.
Travelers will journey along the Pacific coast from North America to South America, combining iconic ports and beach destinations with a deeper exploration of ancient civilizations, rainforests, and volcanic landscapes.
The South American and Antarctic voyages include nine scenic sailing experiences, placing guests before some of the most breathtaking landscapes on the planet. Highlights include the four-day Antarctic experience, sailing alongside the imposing Pio XI Glacier, the Glacier Alley tour, the Beagle Channel, and the Chilean fjords.
Land excursions allow you to delve into some of South America's most legendary destinations. A visit to Machu Picchu offers the opportunity to discover the famous "Lost City of the Incas," with its stone terraces, sacred temples, and precisely carved granite walls.
