The Norwegian company Hurtigruten, specialists in travel through Norway, the Norwegian fjords and Arctic expeditions, has announced new trips on one of its most popular routes, which allows travelers to get to know Norway in depth.
Lasting eight days, the program incorporates new departure dates in April, May and September 2027, responding to the growing demand for this already established itinerary within the shipping company's offering.
The expedition begins in Bergen, considered the gateway to the fjords, with its charming cobblestone streets and colorful houses, and continues to the Kvinnherads and Rosendal fjords, areas marked by their glacial legacy and rich history. The journey then proceeds to Stravanger, Hardangerfjord, and Sognefjord, respectively. These last two boast some of the country's most iconic landscapes and are known in local lore as the Queen and King of the fjords, referring to the gentle beauty of Hardangerfjord and the imposing grandeur of Sognefjord, Norway's longest and deepest fjord.
The itinerary also includes stops in different coastal locations such as Stavanger itself, a lively seaside city where Viking heritage meets modern energy; Eidfjord, a quiet village surrounded by steep cliffs and rivers; and Skjolden, a peaceful village that boasts the Jostedalsbreen glacier, the largest in continental Europe, as well as the UNESCO-listed Urnes Stave Church, the oldest in all of Norway.
Finally, we come to Ålesund and Nordfjord. The former is the ideal place to admire Art Nouveau architecture amidst a cluster of islands framed by mountains and sea. As for Nordfjord, we visit the innermost section of the fjord, where we find Olden, a tranquil village nestled on the turquoise waters of the Oldeelva River.
