Special recognition for the “All Aboard!” program at the 2026 Cruise Excellence Awards

During the 2026 Cruise Excellence Awards, held in Madrid, special recognition was given to the Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, CLIA and MSC Cruises for the joint development of the educational program “All Aboard!”.

Special recognition for the “All Aboard!” program at the 2026 Cruise Excellence AwardsThe award highlights a pioneering educational initiative aimed at students in grades 4-6 of Primary Education, designed to showcase the wide variety of professions that exist on board a cruise ship, while promoting values ​​such as sustainability, creativity and teamwork.

“All Aboard!” combines dynamic classroom workshops with a creative competition based on the use of recycled materials, promoting the principles of the circular economy and environmental awareness from an early age. The winning class receives as a prize the opportunity to visit an MSC Cruises ship during its stop in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, gaining firsthand insight into onboard operations and the different professional profiles that make the cruise industry possible.

In its first international edition, the program has already involved 400 students, confirming its strong educational impact and the growing interest in bringing the maritime industry closer to new generations through practical and meaningful learning experiences.

The award was accepted by Luz Marina Espiau, member of the Board of Directors of MedCruise and commercial director of the Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, along with Ana Díaz, representing CLIA, and Sofía Basterra, representing MSC Cruises.

This recognition highlights the program as an outstanding example of public-private collaboration, strengthening the link between education and industry and generating a tangible social impact.

The award received in Madrid reinforces the shared commitment between port authorities, cruise associations and shipping companies to promote initiatives with purpose, international projection and long-term transformative potential.
