The Teatro Eslava will host, for the first time in Madrid, the "Goya Awards for Cruise Ships" ceremony
Next Thursday, February 12, the cruise industry will gather in Madrid to celebrate a gala evening at the Teatro Eslava, where national and international executives will collect the 2025 Cruise Excellence Awards.
After years of establishing itself as an essential event for the cruise industry, the Awards arrive in Madrid with the aim of continuing to highlight the excellence, innovation and quality of the shipping companies, destinations, ports and professionals that drive the growth of the sector.
Cruises News Media Group, the company that owns and organizes the event, has confirmed the attendance of several international cruise line executives, as well as national executives, representatives of the Spanish port system, shipping agents, tour operators and more than 100 Spanish travel agents.
These cruise industry awards will be the crowning achievement of a historic year for Spanish ports, which welcomed 14.1 million cruise passengers in 2025, breaking the previous year's record with an almost 10% increase. The Spanish cruise market is projected to reach over 650,000 passengers, pending official confirmation.
The Cruise Excellence Awards have been presented in Spain since 2008 and are chosen by cruise passengers and travel agencies through online voting. They recognize the best ships, cuisine, itineraries, and cruise lines, among other categories, totaling 18. At the same event, Cruises News Media Group presents its special awards.
This nineteenth edition of the Excellence Cruise Awards marks a milestone in the history of the awards, as it will be the first time the event takes place in Madrid, with sponsorships from International HM Hospitals, Puertos del Estado, Grupo Viajes El Corte Inglés, Airmet, Visit Qatar, Intermundial, Lantimar Ship Agent and Perelada & Chivite.
