Under the slogan 'Castellón: the stopover that awakens your senses', PortCastelló arrives at Fitur with a campaign based on experiences where the visitor becomes the protagonist of a sensory adventure. The objective is to perfectly replicate the concept of a short but intense stopover, while reinforcing Castellón's value proposition as a destination where visitors can enjoy memorable experiences.
The head of PortCastelló has stated that, currently, the Port Authority “is working on improving the experience of cruise passengers arriving at the port, ensuring that we offer comfortable and efficient access, and a direct connection with a cultural, historical and leisure offering, which is our best calling card.”.
Thus, Ibáñez has assured that “our objective in the coming years is to continue consolidating PortCastelló in the luxury cruise segment”, while recalling that “the port of Castellón closed 2025 with a historic record of cruises and our objective is to continue playing in the league of premium ports of call for the next two years”.
Therefore, Ibáñez added, “during these days, in order to attract new port calls and consolidate the Port of Castellón internationally as a cruise destination, the PortCastelló Foundation will maintain an intense schedule of meetings, having already scheduled nearly a dozen meetings and interviews with industry professionals and shipping companies to promote new port calls and strengthen relationships, positioning the port as an essential stop for cruises in the Mediterranean and thus increasing the flow of tourists to the city.”.
The president of the Port Authority also pointed out that this upward trend "is the result of a carefully studied strategy that seeks to position Castellón in a very specific market segment: small, luxury cruise ships with passengers who have a high purchasing power.".
To continue along this path of growth and in line with this strategy, the leisure offer is very important; therefore, it is worth remembering that in recent years the Port Authority has been working to strengthen the link between the port and the city, committing to invest in infrastructure and actions to revitalize the leisure area of the port area with recreational and cultural activities that make the area a lively place, where there is always something happening.
In fact, the Port Authority, in collaboration with the Castellón City Council, through the port-city commission, has launched an annual program of activities that includes open-air concerts, food fairs, craft markets, cultural exhibitions and sporting events, turning this area into a dynamic place that stimulates the local economy and attracts thousands of people every year.
