Luminara, the newest superyacht in The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, has made its maiden call in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) welcomed Luminara in the city, marking the start of its homeport operations. Over the coming months, the yacht will operate Asia-Pacific itineraries, with Hong Kong serving as both embarkation and disembarkation port. This deployment further underscores Hong Kong's diverse appeal to cruise tourism and its capacity to attract a growing number of high-end international visitors.
The yacht entered Victoria Harbour and docked at Ocean Terminal in Tsim Sha Tsui, following the launch of its Asia-Pacific itineraries from Singapore last December. The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) commemorated the occasion with a water salute, accompanied by energetic dragon and lion dances. A welcome ceremony and luncheon were held on board, attended by the Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ms. Rosanna Law; the Tourism Commissioner, Ms. Angelina Cheung; the Chief Executive of the HKTB, Mr. Anthony Lau; and representatives of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, to celebrate Luminara in Hong Kong.
Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ms. Rosanna Law, noted: “Hong Kong recorded a total of 189 cruise ship calls in 2025, representing a year-on-year increase of 26%. These included ships from 22 cruise brands worldwide. The total volume of cruise passengers for the year was approximately 630,000, of which 430,000 were inbound visitors. Both figures showed a 20% increase over the previous year. I am delighted to welcome the first-ever luxury cruise call from a leading international brand to Hong Kong at the start of the new year. This demonstrates that Hong Kong not only attracts large and well-known cruise ships but has also succeeded in attracting ultra-luxury vessels targeting high-end international visitors, attesting to the diversity of Hong Kong’s cruise tourism. Looking ahead, the Tourism Commission and the HKTB will continue to strengthen Hong Kong’s position as Asia’s Cruise Hub. We will also work closely together.” with industry partners to boost the development of cruise tourism in Hong Kong.”.

Luminara is the third and newest superyacht in The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection. From January through mid-April, the yacht will sail Hong Kong-bound voyages between Hong Kong and either Singapore or Tokyo, with stops in ports including Osaka (Japan), Bangkok (Thailand), Incheon (South Korea), and Ha Long Bay and Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam).
Launched in July 2025, Luminara is 794 feet (242 meters) long and has a gross tonnage of 46,750. The yacht can accommodate up to 452 guests in 226 spacious suites, all with private verandas. Designed to foster a closer connection with the sea, Luminara offers a refined yet relaxed onboard atmosphere, with thoughtfully designed spaces, five exceptional dining options, seven bars, and a large marina providing direct water access for a variety of activities, promoting an intimate and leisurely way to explore the region by sea.
