Viking has taken delivery of its new riverboats, the Viking Honir, which will sail the Rhine, Main, and Danube rivers, and the Viking Thoth, which will sail the Nile. The Viking Honir was delivered in Basel, Switzerland, while the Viking Thoth was unveiled at the Massara shipyard in Cairo, Egypt.

With accommodation for 190 passengers in 95 cabins, the Viking Honir is the newest ship in the Viking Longship® series. Built specifically for cruising the Rhine, Main, and Danube rivers, it incorporates the elegant Scandinavian design and industry-leading innovations that distinguish the brand, including a signature square bow, three full decks, the Aquavit Terrace indoor/outdoor deck, an asymmetrical corridor, and true two-room suites.
During its inaugural year, the Viking Honir will operate popular itineraries such as Passage to Eastern Europe, Rhine Getaway and Christmas on the Rhine.
With a capacity for 82 passengers in 41 cabins, the Viking Thoth has been specially designed to sail the Nile River on the Pharaohs & Pyramids itinerary, one of the company's most popular routes. Inspired by Viking's award-winning river and ocean-going vessels, the Thoth is an identical sister ship to the Viking Osiris, Viking Aton, Viking Sobek, Viking Hathor , and Viking Amun. With their refined Scandinavian design, these ships comprise the most modern fleet currently sailing the Nile.
Viking remains committed to a long-term, sustainable growth plan focused on consolidating its leadership in experiential tourism. According to its order schedule, the company expects to receive 23 new river cruise ships by 2028 and 10 new ocean-going vessels by 2031.
With these additions, Viking will reach a total of 112 river ships in 2028 and 23 ocean and expedition ships in 2031.
