Viking has received its new riverboat, the Viking Tonle, which will sail exclusively on the Mekong River in Southeast Asia.

Built specifically for the Mekong River and the 15-day Magnificent Mekong itinerary, the Viking Tonle joins its sister ship, the Viking Saigon. Both ships accommodate 80 guests in 40 outside cabins and feature Viking’s signature elegant Scandinavian design, with light-filled public areas and cabins with floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors that open onto a veranda or French balcony.
The three-deck ships also feature a swimming pool, spa and gym, as well as an open-air Sky Bar on the top deck.
Viking remains focused on well-defined, long-term growth plans as part of its strategy to maintain a leading position in experiential travel. Based on its order book, the company expects to receive an additional 25 river cruise ships by 2028 and 10 additional ocean-going ships by 2031. With these orders, Viking will have 112 river cruise ships in 2028 and 23 ocean-going and expedition ships in 2031.
