Hotel giant Aman, which currently operates 36 hotels, resorts, and private residences in 20 countries, has confirmed that its first luxury yacht will be launched in the spring of 2027. The project is progressing as planned: the keel-laying ceremony took place in July of last year, and the vessel was officially christened in April of this year.
With a name meaning “peaceful movement” in Sanskrit, the Amangati will measure approximately 183 meters in length and offer only 47 suites, guaranteeing absolute privacy and exclusivity. Designed inside and out by Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design, its aesthetic is more akin to that of a luxury superyacht than a traditional cruise ship. Described by Aman as a “floating sanctuary,” its design draws inspiration from traditional Japanese ryokan: clean, elegant lines and a minimalist, refined décor. Each suite will feature floor-to-ceiling windows and expansive balconies, creating a light and airy atmosphere. Aman claims these suites will be among the largest ever seen on a yacht of this size.
Passengers will enjoy amenities comparable to those of a luxury hotel, including four international restaurants, a jazz club, and an Aman spa with a Japanese garden. One of the highlights will be the beach club at the stern, offering direct access to the sea for swimming and water sports.
“The vessel will embody the very essence of our brand DNA, offering exceptional privacy, world-class amenities—now synonymous with Aman—and our unparalleled service, yet to be experienced at sea,” said Vlad Doronin, President and CEO of Aman, during the christening ceremony. “As construction progresses, our vision remains clear: to create a vessel that not only represents the highest standards of marine engineering and design, but also reflects the tranquility of our sanctuaries on land.”
The Amangati will also be more environmentally friendly than traditional diesel-powered cruise ships, as it will feature a hybrid propulsion system that uses battery power to reduce emissions and improve efficiency. Aman states that its goal is to minimize the yacht's environmental footprint, in line with its global sustainability strategy.
The Amangati is currently under construction at the T. Mariotti shipyard in Genoa, Italy, and its launch from the Mediterranean is scheduled for spring 2027. It will also be available for private charter.
