Regent Seven Seas Cruises celebrated the keel-laying ceremony for the “Seven Seas Prestige” at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera (Venice). The ultra-luxury cruise ship is being built by Fincantieri for Regent Seven Seas Cruises and is expected to be delivered in 2026.
Among those attending the ceremony were Harry Sommer, President and Chief Executive Officer of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd.; Jason Montague, Director of Luxury at Regent Seven Seas Cruises; Patrik Dahlgren, Executive Vice President, Director of Ship Operations and New Builds at Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd.; Daniele Fanara, Senior Vice President of New Builds and Aftersales at Fincantieri; and Marco Lunardi, Senior Vice President of the Marghera shipyard.
During the event, three specially selected coins were welded to the bottom of the ship, as part of an ancient maritime tradition and a symbol of good luck and blessings for the vessel.
With a gross tonnage of 77,000 tons and a length of 257 meters, the Seven Seas Prestige will accommodate approximately 850 passengers in 434 spacious suites, offering one of the highest space-to-guest ratios in the industry. The ship will embody sophistication and refinement, representing the ultimate expression of timeless elegance, integrating the most advanced environmental technologies, and introducing new accommodation categories, new restaurants, and many more incredible experiences for luxury travelers.
The “Seven Seas Prestige” will be the first ship of the new Prestige class, a generation of vessels that follows the successful Explorer series, also built by Fincantieri: “Seven Seas Explorer” (2016), “Seven Seas Splendor” (2020) and “Seven Seas Grandeur” (2023), delivered respectively from the shipyards of Sestri Ponente (Genoa) and Ancona.
