MSC Cruises appointed Luis Blanes as its new Commercial Director in Spain last January . Blanes brings extensive experience in the tourism sector and two decades of experience with MSC Cruises. He now takes on the challenge of consolidating the company's growth in the Spanish market.
After graduating in Tourism from the University of Alicante, Blanes began her professional career in the tourism sector, with significant experience in the travel agency channel. Her in-depth knowledge of the industry and its commercial dynamics will allow her to further strengthen the relationship with travel agents, a key element in the company's strategy.
Since joining MSC Cruises in 2005, he has held various positions of responsibility in the commercial area, actively participating in the company's growth in Spain. Over the years, he has held positions such as Regional Sales Manager in Murcia and Alicante, Area Manager for Levante, Andalusia, and Central Spain, and Head of the Southern Region, demonstrating a deep understanding of the market and strong leadership skills—qualities that will be fundamental in this new phase.
“It is an honor to take on this new challenge at MSC Cruises,” said Luis Blanes. “Our goal is to continue driving the company’s growth in Spain and offer our customers the best cruise experiences, thus strengthening our market position.”
This appointment comes at a key moment for MSC Cruises, which continues to strengthen its presence in the Spanish market with the arrival of new ships and the expansion of its international offerings. One of the most important milestones will be the inauguration of MSC World America in April of this year, with departures every Saturday from Miami to explore the Caribbean. And, looking ahead to December 2026, the company's third World Class ship, MSC World Asia, will join the Mediterranean with weekly departures from Barcelona.
Luis Blanes' experience in the sector and his knowledge of the market will be key in this new phase of growth, driving the development of commercial strategies that strengthen the relationship with travel agencies and enhance the presence of MSC Cruises in Spain.
